If there’s one thing I’ve learned after running Leonis Summer Houses for the last 11 years, it’s that it all comes down to a unique and indescribable feeling one gets during their stay here. Now this is Leonis Summer Houses 2.0, everything you loved about the first edition, but with brand new outdoor furniture, new fabrics, new colours. Just when you thought that this place couldn’t get any better. The turquoise water of the swimming pool matches harmoniously with the earthy colour of the ridiculously comfortable loungers, the pebble-tables add to the beach-life ambiance, while your feet step onto the Greek stone of the pool area floor. Brand new cushions on all sofas, with fabrics that will have you pushing your cute little face onto any of them and screaming “HOW IS THIS SO SOFT??!??”. 10 years ago, a yellow 2CV showed up at the hotel’s parking lot. I soon realized that the driver was the guy I had hired to join myself and Anna (that was the LSH team back in 2013), thinking “hmm… this is going to be interesting.” And boy, “interesting” was an understatement. Through the seasons, our LSH family grew and we managed to create a very loving family, something we have been very proud of. Just as we were excitedly about to step into one more season, fate abruptly ripped this unique, kind, brilliant, generous, artistic, loving soul from us. I’m writing this post, I’m mentioning the fact, but in my mind this hasn’t happened. My heart might be heavier than ever, but it still won’t accept the reason for that. I almost didn’t even write this post. I don’t want to say goodbye. None of us want to say goodbye to our Vaggelis. There was just one thing he hated and that was misery. He absolutely hated misery, always trying to bring a smile on the face of everyone around him. We’ll honor him by staying true to his legacy, standing by each other, making each other laugh and bringing joy to the people who step into this hotel, this place that he loved so much. This is not goodbye, this is “see you later my dear friend, come pick me up in one of those junkyard cars that you can’t help yourself from adopting.”
