🇪🇺💔 Well, it’s official - the UK have left the EU. A final hats off to all whom contributed these beauties both to and from the EU. We will remain connected ✊

So today’s the day, after all the back and forth, at 23:01 today, the UK will officially leave the EU. The Brexit countdown clock has almost hit zero, but what does that mean? Still don’t know how we got here, think there is only one word for it...

After last night’s debate, A snap YouGov poll suggested the public were evenly split on who had won the debate, "with most Labour voters thinking Jeremy Corbyn won, most Conservative voters thinking Boris Johnson won” BBC Political Editor Laura Kuenssberg said “A lot of huffing and puffing. A lot of over eager attempts to land and repeat their stock lines. But the first head-to-head clash between the two men who could be the next prime minister did not transform the landscape of this election. It is still early in this election campaign and likely that swathes of the public have quite understandably only started to think vaguely about the choice in front of them. But at this stage, with Labour behind in the polls, tonight the danger was for Boris Johnson, to throw away his lead, and that didn't happen. And the opportunity was for Jeremy Corbyn to start closing the gap and he didn't manage to take it. This is a genuinely momentous election. The @conservatives will reduce "immigration overall" to the UK after Brexit if they win the election, Home Secretary Priti Patel has said. Senior Tory figures have so far stopped short of making such a commitment before the party's post-Brexit immigration policy is set out. Home Office Minister Brandon Lewis said the UK needed "to leave the EU so we can end free movement" in order to reduce net migration. @uklabour has yet to announce its policy, but Shadow Business Minister Laura Pidcock said the Conservatives had "broken every single commitment they've ever given" on immigration. She also called targets to reduce immigration "arbitrary" and said the "real issue" was "exploitative bosses" bringing down wages. An @thesnp spokesman said cutting immigration would be "hugely damaging" for the Scottish economy and called the issue to be devolved to the Scottish government. And the @libdems Home Affairs spokesperson Christine Jardine called the Conservatives' approach "an insult to the millions who have come to the UK and made it their home". Postcard by @lizziereid

According to @borisjohnsonuk The UK cannot afford to "squander" more time deciding whether and how to leave the EU. He will argue that ending the current "groundhoggery" will deliver a big economic boost and enable the UK to focus on other priorities. But former Tory David Gauke said Mr Johnson's plan will lead to a "bad outcome for the country". Labour said the PM's deal is flawed and has promised another referendum. @jeremycorbyn has said he would negotiate a better deal on the terms of the UK's exit and give the public the choice of whether to accept it or remain in the EU in a public vote next summer. The Brexit Party won't contest 317 seats the Tories won at the last election but will run everywhere else. In the word of @david_lammy ‘Nigel Farage bottling it by standing down in Tory seats shows how vital mi it is for Remainers to cooperate.
