To use satellite 📡 imagery in the context of sustainable development policies ♻️ with the help of a complete and detailed database. This is the idea presented by the Research Institute for Development (IRD), the University of New Caledonia (UNC) and the startup Insight SAS, co-organizers of a seminar on the use of spatial 👩🏼‍🚀 imagery in the sustainable management of the territory, on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th of November in Nouméa. 🛰️Satellite imagery today constitutes a particularly complete and reliable database, allowing visualization and decision support in a number of sectors, including sustainable development through the monitoring of ecosystems, risk areas, the management of resources or the assessment of environmental impacts.🌌 Supported by the government 🏢 of New Caledonia and the State, the OSS NC seminar wants to contribute to the democratization of the use of spatial imagery in the context of adaptation to global changes,🌐 the protection of natural environments and support for the sustainable management of territories and resources. The 🏦 Banque des Territoires and the 🎓 Université de la Nouvelle-Calédonie launch the TRIAD Project, winner of the Overseas Innovation Plan 💵 Seed funding of nearly 12 million CFP was obtained from the State via the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations. Built upon the success of the 1st Pacific Exposition, the 🇮🇩 Government of Indonesia will hold the 2nd Pacific Exposition on 27-30 October 2021. Like in 2019, all countries and territories in the Pacific region are expected to participate. The 2nd Pacific Exposition will face unique conditions as the world is still battling the 🦠 Covid-19 pandemic and its economic impacts.   The theme of this year’s Pacific Exposition is “It’s Time for the Pacific”. The theme reflects optimism as the region has so far successfully contained the spread of the pandemic.
