Our last feature for #adoptalessadoptable pet week is #BGCcatQuentin. He survived a brutal attack on his family last Sept. 7. His sister Lima was found dead nearby. His other siblings found petrified up in the trees. He is still recovering at the vet. Sadly, it appears that he has lost his eyesight because of the trauma to his head. For the 5th and 6th cats of #adoptalessadoptable pet week, we feature 2 cyclops cats. Sandy and One Eye are both #tnvr #communitycats, which means they have been both sterilized and had the anti rabies vaccine. #BGCcatSandy was adopted last week Thank you Ellie adopting Sandy ❤️🙏! She was abandoned some months ago, but she was in such poor condition that we could not even take her to be spayed, as she was too malnourished. She already arrived with the eye problems. We’ve fed her and tried to care for her outdoors, as we cannot take every cat home, even to foster. She’s so friendly that it’s obvious she lived with people. So it’s sad to think that everything that she has suffered: neglect, malnutrition, eye injuries or viral damage, are because the human that she loved, couldn’t or didn’t care for her. Thank you for recognizing her sweetness and offering her care and love again. ❤ #BGCcatOneEye has been posted many times by his feeding team for adoption, as he is friendly and sweet. We have actually interviewed one adopter for him, but it did not push through 😿. He is still outdoors and volunteers look out for him as much as possible, but an indoor home is best. Day 3 of #adoptalessadoptable pet week 💔💔💔 When a litter is born, some irresponsible pet owners single out female kittens and abandon them like trash. We end up with predominantly females still for adoption as most people prefer males reasoning they cannot give birth 😿. We do emphasize that we have girl kittens spayed as early as 4 months old, so they cannot get pregnant. On their part, adopters must neuter/spay all pet cats before adding another family member. These 2 calico kittens were found tonight. Calico or tricolor kittens are almost always female. We still have so many calicos for adoption. These 2 babies need fostering. This week, September 18 to 24 is Adopt a less adoptable pet week. Our first feature is one of the original #communitycats, Meg. She was born in BGC almost 5 years ago. Her sisters Each have a #fureverhome already. #BGCcatMeg was recently fostered indoors due to a big infected cheek wound. It has healed now, and she is ready for her own home.
