Hi. My name is Jena and I am addicted to full cast audiobooks. 🎧 Okay. Full disclosure. This is only my third audiobook. Well, my third one since college which was many, many, (MANY) moons ago... but I don’t know if I can ever go back to single narration again! True, the format of this series does lend a certain unique aspect of storytelling that makes the full cast feel like the way it was meant to be read. But still. I need more. A lot more. 🌿 SUSPENSE THRILLER REC 🌿 🕵🏼 An Ella Dark FBI Suspense Thriller series 🎧 I listened to the first three of these through @chirpbooks and I couldn’t get enough! 📚 The series follows FBI agent Ella Dark throughout her time in the field. She was a desk agent until her skills are needed for the first case. She proves she’s one of the best and gets to go catch more serial killers. The books reference real serial killers from history and how they care connected to each case. Each book is about a new case, all serial killers, and we also learn more and more about Ellas personal life. I got so wrapped up in each case and wanting to know more and more about her as a person. She has such an interesting backstory that I must learn more about. ⭐️ I’m very wrapped up in this series and am waiting for the next one, Girl Silenced, to be available as an audiobook. I highly recommend these books if you like suspense thrillers, reading about serial killers and solving crimes. 💬 Anyone else like crime show, crime podcasts, all that good stuff? 🙋🏼‍♀️

💚 A Grown-Up Kind of Pretty💚 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ❤️ I listened to this one on @chirpbooks and loved the narrator. She had a southern accent and it made me feel like I was there in Mississippi! The plot was interesting and full of a lot of little mysteries. 💔 While I loved the narrator, sometimes it was hard to determine which character was speaking since the accents were similar. QotD: Favorite Audiobook/book (recent or of all times) AotD: I still have my tapes with the radio recording of Lord of The Rings from a long time ago. Today I listened to the audiobook (my fav app for audiobooks is @chirpbooks ) of Seven Ways to Kill a King. It's a nice standalone fantasy story of a princess made into an assassin. Loved the narrator's voice. ----------------------- ■ Review: This is my first time reading this author's novel and I enjoyed the audiobook a lot. A quick standalone fantasy romance. Myrina decides to revenge on her mother by assassinating the traitors one by one. Her mission is time-sensitive for her oldest sister is close to turning the age to be queen and Myrina worries for her life. She is not alone in this journey, although her loyal guard is there only for the romance tropes. I enjoyed her journey, almost wished it had more to each mission and fewer romance slow burn scenes. I liked the plot twist at the end and final chapters. Book Review! 📚 • • 🎧 🍩 Maybe in Another Life - Taylor Jenkins Reid • • Starting off this year strong! (I technically started this in December, but finished it January 2nd so it counts!) I really like Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books. This is my 4th by her so far and I have yet to be disappointed! I really like how the story went in two different directions. I was not expecting either one at all, and I honestly can’t pick a favorite. One of my favorite parts was how TJR writes her dialogue. It doesn’t seem forced, a lot of the conversations between Hannah and Gabby actually sound like conversations between two friends. I listened to this audiobook, and I think Julia Whelan really nailed the dialogue. She’s already one of my favorite narrators, and I was so glad to see she read this one! Without spoiling too much, there was one incident that hit a little close to home. Reading (or in this case listening) to a character go through phases of anger and grief that I’ve personally felt too, made for an emotional car ride but overall it was nice to know these types of feelings are normal. My only complaint was the CONSTANT mention of cinnamon rolls. We get it, she loves them. I actually went and got one because of this dang book. It was delicious and I’m not really mad about it, but still, it was a bit excessive 😂 I’m giving this one a solid 4.5/5 and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more of her books! I just picked up a copy of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I’m really looking forward to starting it! • • • (Side note, totally used a donut emoji because a cinnamon roll one doesn’t exist. 💔REVIEW💔 Fool Me Twice at Christmas By Camilla Isley ⭐️⭐️.5 This book was a mess! The premise intrigued me: With parents who are best friends and business partners, it’s not easy for Chuck and Kate to announce they’ve split up. But with the holidays looming over them, they can no longer keep pretending. Chuck and Kate head home for Christmas, determined to tell the truth—and end up accidentally engaged instead. But it was such a let down! I feel asleep listening to this audiobook TWICE! If you like hearing the line, we’ll tell them tomorrow 484382769 times, you’ll like this book. If you enjoy the miscommunication trope (does anyone?!) you’ll like this. If you love characters that act like children and are too cowardly to tell the truth, this is the story for you! To say it was infuriating is an understatement. The amount of ridiculousness that was packed into this story is mind boggling. Fake engagement, okay, fine. But the lies escalatedto the point that she’s fake pregnant and her mom throws her a shower! WTF! The parents were wayyy too much. Who plans a wedding in a week? Who buys their kid a house without talking to them first! Just...no...why! I bought this book for $1 on @chirpbooks and it’s so over the top that I don’t even regret my purchase.
