Dog on quilt on beach! Donald on My bird quilt on #ftmyersbeach This quilt is made up of bird fabric I have collected fir 20 years. No pattern just sewed pieces of fabric together. It took courage to cut some of my favorite fabric but I am happy I did so. My friend came over and we made a quilt that way for her grand kids. I never did it that way before and she only ever hand pieced fabrics - had never used a machine. So we learned from each other. This method I learned from the video by @jordanfabrics. Highly refer everybody to this very source. I just try to help those who do not understand English but are interested in this method and asked me to help. 1. Вначале будут раскроены полосы. Можно взять готовый крой, Jelly rolls. Главное, полосы должны быть одинаковой ширины. Пожалуйста, не забудьте подготовить ткани: предварительно простирать либо обработать утюгом с паром. В нашем примере 4 полосы: желтая, белая, в цветочек и зеленая. Ширина каждой 7см. 2. Затем каждую пару полос сошьем вместе. Шов 0,75см. Выбор цвета и сочетания тканей – отдельная тема. Оптимально использовать этот метод кроя, если все ткани отлично сочетаются друг с другом, и нужно получить в результате цветовой хаос. Мы сшиваем желтую полосу с белой, а полосу в цветочек – с зеленой. 3. Утюжка. Все швы – взаутюжку. 4. После чего эти подготовленные пары опять сошьем между собой. Складываем сшитые пары лицом к лицу, совмещая стыки, и шьем вдоль всей детали слева и справа на 0,75см. 5. Утюжка. 6. Раскрой. В результате получаются квадраты 2-х видов. Размеры квадратов примерно 15,6*15,6см (в крое). Пожалуйста, смотрите иллюстрации. In less than one week this small quilt is finished. It finished 32 by 40. I used the It's Only Triangles pattern from @jordanfabrics . I did change it up just a bit and trimmed my half square triangles down to 4.5 inches. I had so much fun making this one. So bleibt den langen Lineal fest auf dem Stoff und rutscht nicht weg! Hier habe ich gerade eine meine Lieblings Stoffe zum Binding Streifen geschnitten! Jetzt ist es leider alle!! Ich habe es vor Jahren gekauft, weiß nicht mehr genau, waren einige Meter und hab alles nur als Binding benutzt! Streifen Stoffe in Patchwork Blöcke zu benutzen finde ich nicht so einfach, aber für Bordüre, Rückseite und Binding sind perfekt, einfach und ein besonderes Design Element! Heute Abend werde ich das Binding annähen, aber erst muss zur Arbeit! I forgot to post my second quilt top! This is the Curvy Log Cabin quilt from @jordanfabrics. This quilt pretty much sewed itself. 😁 I finished the blocks and sewed them into quadrants in one weekend. Then it sat for three weeks (or more!). 😁 Yesterday I sewed the quarters together and added the borders. I don’t have backing for this one yet so it’ll be a little while until it’s quilted. 😊 I used a @rileyblakedesigns Hibiscus rolie polie and some additional yardage from the same range, purchased from @cozycornerquilts_. The white background is some printed neutral from @spotlightstores. Takes 2-charm packs and 3 yds background fabric for the quilt top plus fabric for binding and backing and batting of course. I’m using exquisite by Riley Blake fabrics. It’s a sea-creatures themed baby quilt I can now share as it has been gifted and is no longer a surprise💙. 🦀 I have made several jelly roll race quilts, but this one includes a modification I learned from @jordanfabrics. By adding the additional blocks between jelly roll strips, a secondary pattern emerges and adds a touch more interest to the overall design. I like my quilt backs a little scrappy.
