ᵇʳᵃⁿᵈᵉᵈ ᶜᵒⁿᵗᵉⁿᵗ 💕Fall is here and so is the pattern for Fisher Vestedisse……at least the kiddo sizes. I made myself 3 adult versions with out being 100% satisfied with the fit. So in frustration (and lets be honest, utter rage) I deleted the entire adult pattern and decided it was going to be exclusively for kids. After spending a couple months in the cupboard - I pulled out the estranged garments, took 5 inches of the length and moved the snaps a bit. Turned out they were almost perfect all along🙄 So enough about my unruly temperament. Adult version will be available, when I have recreated all calculations. On a more positive note - Fisher Vestedisse is chunky and toasty under a light jacket, without bulky sleeves to drive anyone crazy. Perfect for fall, at least in my corner of the world🍂 It is a super quick and fun knit in half brioche. ᵇʳᵃⁿᵈᵉᵈ ᶜᵒⁿᵗᵉⁿᵗ Just wanted to share my determined middle kiddo’s ‘back to school - fall attire’ 🍂👆🏻 When a box of yarn from @disfrutalalana in Peru landed on our doorstep a couple months ago, Olga very quickly claimed it for herself. She promised to wind up the yarn AND pose the result, if I turned it into a new ‘Olgas Vestedisse’ with matching headband and black Leather Snaps. I can’t speak for other knitting mothers out there, but Im personally pretty darn easy to persuade when my kids ask for new knitwear?🤷🏻‍♀️ Her and I designed ‘Olgas Vestedisse’ together back when she was still in kindergarten, because she was bothered by bulky sleeves under her jacked but also by cowls that wouldn’t stay in place (as mentioned - determined type….) To complete the circle @disfrutalalana helped me with a translation of the headband (‘Spændepandebånd’) so both patterns are now available in Spanish. ᵇʳᵃⁿᵈᵉᵈ ᶜᵒⁿᵗᵉⁿᵗ The Halter Snap Skirt - When simple does it 💛 It was initially made to go with the ‘Halter Snap Cool’ top but has turned out to be the perfect all around summer garment and vacay project. Summer break can be the perfect time to dive into super complex and time consuming projects, where 18 video tutorials with exotic techniques must be studied while several tear soaked swatches are made before even casting on. I travel and vacation with three relatively small kiddos (with big personalities!) so that is NOT my jam. If you are one of those people able to juggle both, I salute you. Personally I feed on projects that can be left and returned to MULTIBLE times through out the day with out having to asses patterns and charts. Projects that can survive sandy beach bags and questionable glove compartments are very much appreciated. If the project results in something that can be taken into use straight away and blend in with the packed summer outfits, we have a winner. The Halter Snap Skirt is one of those projects, and it’s so easy and quick to make that my middle one is working on one for herself. We are going to be using it over the bathing suit with flip flops during the day and with the ‘Halter Snap Cool’ top during night.
