Gold Ferrari Testarossa built in tribute to Enzo Ferrari's vision of building a TestaDOro the "Gold-Head" Enzo in a interview just before passing away in the late 80's, said if money was no object he would have called the Testarossa (Redhead) the Testa-D-Oro (Goldhead) and would have built the heads out of gold to reduce heat. This TestaDoro Tribute is built with many automotive restrictions of the 80's removed. Most people are unaware the testarossa's iconic side strakes / fins where not part of the original design, and where added due to many countries having restrictions against large openings leading to hot parts like the huge radiatiors hidden in those huge wide fenders.. Those huge radiatiors are the entire reason the testarossa has its unique shape. The rear square fenders where built around the square radiators... It was the first time a production car used rear side radiators, Enzo Ferrari sought to move the radiators from the front to the side/rear just like the F1 cars to resolve the overheating issues of the 512bb and all the previous mid-engined cars. In hindsight, Enzo was 20 years ahead of his time, today huge side openings are common on supercars. This build shows what the car would have been without the restrictions of its time.. The vents have been deleted on only one side to compare the design differences. A straight pipe exhaust has been fabricated to unleash the Ferrari's legendary flat 12 engine sound, and reduce 80lbs The EFI / CIS will be replaced with ITB's reminiscent of the 70's F1 engines is TR's engine derives from.
