Nearly a year ago, I walked along this bridge and promised that if I ever returned to Portugal, it would be solely to bestow upon this bridge another captivating story. Свобода. Світ. Любов. Віра. #ukrainewillresist #ukrainewillwin

It was my first time in Barcelona, this July. I was greeted by bright water glare outside the porthole window. The thought of leaving my jackets in my backpack already felt like a heatstroke. Walking through the Gothic Quarter, through a network of tangled streets, I stumbled upon "The Kiss of Freedom" photo-Mosaic. And near the panneau was a line of smiling, brightly dressed, free and happy people. 4,000 tiles, 4,000 stories of local people are enclosed in this work. Joan Fontcuberta, the author, selected photos that were closest to the idea of freedom. It is such an intimate feeling to look at the multifaceted nature of this concept. A plaque next to the mosaic quotes Oliver Wendell Holmes: «The sound of a kiss is not as loud as that of a cannon, but it's echo lasts a great deal longer.» Everyone interprets freedom in their own way, and I can see how differently it resonates. And what I was able to find in common, what united all these fragments, was the manifestation of the moment of happiness. And there is nothing more uplifting, nourishing and inspiring than the freedom that comes from love. And now I understand that the strongest mosaic of love, collected over time, by the pieces of the shared elements of life. And then the mosaic will never lose its brightness of colors, and its lifespan is immortal.
