Signe Bay

Some snippets from the island of Møn, where almost two weeks have passed by in the blink of an eye. 💫 Quite some time have been spent in the roses and at the top of the ladder, with a rake in my hand, trying to fetch all the cherries from our cherry trees that have become almost 9 metres tall. 😅🍒 Anna opened the cherry road side stall the other day (already our 3rd year!), the cherries are in such an abundance even after we make both cherry icecream, cakes and eat them for breakfast, lunch and dessert. 😜 Not to speak of the cherry wine and juice I'll make later this month. 👌🏻 And we have enjoyed sunsets over the fields, been to market days in Stege, visited potters (image 9-11: Hyllested Keramik, and yes, I will soon post a guide to the island ☝🏻) and not least prepared for this summer's big event: The arrival of Irma's puppies, which will happen any minute now. 🙏🏼🐶🐶🐶 So the summer on the island will be with a complete and lovely menagerie of cherries, friends, family - and puppies. Just as it was my dream with this big merchants house. 🥰👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼🐶🍒 #møn #islandofmoen #signebay_merchantsfarm #irma #visitmoen

Workshop News! Upon many requests we’ve opened enrollment for @ch_ecco and my next workshop adventure in Sicily, and we’re BEYOND excited to invite you to join us in Autumn (24-28 October 2024) for our 4th edition of our Photography Workshop in Sicily! ❤️ This time we added another day and included two new really amazing features: An afternoon exclusively for our group at the beyond beautiful baroque 17th-century Palazzo Biscari (see images 👉🏻 - imagine the stillife scene we’ll create there? 😍) AND not the least a Sunday morning at the antique flea market for prop hunting and street photography. We can really hardly wait! Besides lots of demonstrations and sharing everything we know about styling, photography and videography, we will take you on wine and food tour in Catania and North of Etna to visit one of the best producers of Sicilian wine. We will eat the most delicious food you can ever imagine, and we will cook in the palazzo with our ‘nonnas’. We will show you the hidden gems of the beautiful baroque city of Catania that I know inside out. I have relatives in Catania and have come here for 25 years and I almost regard myself as more Sicilian than Danish and speak the Sicilian dialect. 😆 I have a huge love for the Italian way of life which inspire me in everything I do — a celebration of family, food, passion and ‘la dolce vita’ and together with Francesco from Sardegna we love to pass that love on to our workshop students! It’s inspiring and sparks your creativity. 💫
Former students said: ‘I’m still flying on this energy and happiness you all gave us!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, grazie!’ /Lotta 'THANK YOU so much for having us in this marvelous city full of love and passion. This workshop was such a beautiful experience where we fueled both body and mind!' /Eva The retreat is a complete experience from arrival to departure where everything is included and seats are very limited and sell out fast. Go to link in bio to read more and register - and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. A few more moments from our workshop in Sicily. Here the second afternoon and evening 💫❤️ (Put on sound for a full impression 🎶) 1. Francesco @ch_ecco posing with the beautiful cake he just effortlessly made during his demonstration. We (me and the students) were here pushing him around, trying to place him just right in order for the light to catch the cake perfectly✨ #lightstudies 2. Checco doing his ‘How to make a cake-reel session’, here in a concentrated moment, buttering on the meringue. During this demonstration, Checco elegantly shows and talks about a few key elements that are very important in order to make a perfect reel 🎶 3. + 4. More from the posing moment 5. While everyone was getting ready for aperitivo and pasta demonstration, @kajsa_kajsa stepped out on the palazzo balcony to enjoy the nice evening light and the view over the market 🥰 6. 'Spaghetti alla chitarra’ session with our brilliant local cook Gabriella had begun, and @lucianacartolano was trying the fun and traditional Italian way of pasta making 👩🏻‍🍳 7. Gabriella made the spaghetti into the most traditional Catanese dish ‘Pasta alla Norma’, with eggplants, basil, homemade tomato sauce and salted ricotta on top. We had it for dinner – well, as a ‘primo’, because of course we had four courses like real Sicilians do 😋😆 8. After dinner strolls and jazz music everywhere in the streets. What a beautiful night after a full and beyond amazing day ❤️ #catania #photographyworkshop #workshopinsicily #retreatinsicily #visitcatania #palazzoinsicily

It's been a busy Sunday with lots of gardening, as the small city garden was really overgrown with weeds (which I actually love, but the dog, cat and rabbit have to be able to move around 😆🐶🐱🐰), only interruption was afternoon tea and cake, when a dear friend came by for a nice and long 'Sunday in the garden' chat. The best kind of Sunday in my opinion! ❤️☀️🌱 Hope you've had a nice day too? Here are a few images and rather blurry behind the scenes from exactly two years ago, when my friend @linda_lomelino and I hosted a lovely 2 day Midsummer workshop at the studio with sweet Camilla @atelier_ea cooking us some delicious lunches 👌🏻. Those were really good days as well. 🌸🥰 #signebaystudio #stylingandphotographyworkshop #peonies #flowers #peonylove #studio #photographystudio #daylightstudio #flowersofinstagram #thatsdarling #vogueliving #elledecoration #f52home #darlingweekend #fellowmag #interiorstylist #interiorphotographer #beautifulhomes #darlingweekend

Some more images from @ch_ecco and my workshop in Sicily, from our second day with market strolls in Catania and stillife compositions. 😍 Thanks to our beautiful and sweet participant @anna.skovdal for immediately being ready to jump in a @sondeflor dress, pose and understanding the story I was trying to unfold; Her strolling down to the market to get fresh produce and flowers, then her 'dad' (a randomly passing nice, old man on a vespa 🤣) came to pick her up, then home she went to cook and wait for her loved one to come for lunch. 💫 I created the stillife scene while talking about light, colors, texture and composition, then Anna sat down to pose once more. Oh, how much fun it was! 🌸❤️ After we went on with lunch and another lecture and demonstration by @ch_ecco - more about that one of the next days! 😍 Wishing you a nice Wednesday evening! 🌸 #sicilyworkshop #photographyworkshop #photograohyretreat #masteringthelight #matheringcolors #chiaroscuro #foodphotography #stillifephotography #catania #visitcatania #pescheria

The other day my dear friends Nora & Laura @_foodstories_ came by the studio for an impromptu lunch. And those are the best! I quickly whipped up a summer salad with lots of tomatoes, red onions, garlic & olive oil (in the dressing ☝🏻) that I just brought back from Sicily, oh, how good it was to sit there together again. ❤️ We've then been visiting the amazing @3daysofdesign the last days and met new and old friends and clients and got all inspired for upcoming projects. 🙌🏻 #signebaystudio #foodphotography #iphone #summerlunch

I'm still high after last week's spring workshop in Sicily. 🙌🏻 So, how do you get so much creativity, so many beautiful people and connections, such wonderful surroundings and colors into a few lines here… @ch_ecco and I don't only teach technique and theory, in fact hardly. We teach light and color and how to capture a still life, a set table, a story in the market that can evoke emotions in the viewer. ❤️ Market visits, lessons in the palazzo, a day at the vineyard, a visit to a temporary Caravaggio exhibition to learn from the master of light himself. Because it all begins with being inspired and filled up by colors, emotions and tasteful food to open your senses. And to do that Catania is the perfect setting! Here are a few first pictures from our fantastic days in Sicily! 🌸☀️🍒🍓🍑🍅 Thank you to a fantastic group (two of them we've had the immense happiness of having before, and that just makes it all so much like family 🥰), who came from all the way from Argentina, NYC, Sweden and Denmark and to our amazing team. 🙏🏼🥰❤️ We'll meet again for sure! @louisebylisapalandet @botania_dk @kajsa_kajsa @anna.skovdal @lucianacartolano @hazelnuss @inge.skovdal @jkjerrumgaard @henrietteeskelund @franci_fanci @claudia_ferrau #photographyworkshop #photographyretreat #workshopinsicily #masteringthelight #ligheandcolors #chiaroscuro #foodphotography #stillifephotography

The final ones of the 'saved from garbage peonies'-series. 🌸🌸🌸 #signebaystudio #peonies #flowers #peonylove #flowersofinstagram #thatsdarling #vogueliving #elledecoration #f52home #darlingweekend #fellowmag

More peonies for you on this bright and beautiful Sunday. Hope you're having a nice one! 🌸☀️ Also, as I mentioned in my story the other day, we've had a cancellation for my and @ch_ecco 's coming 'Spring in Sicily' photography & videography workshop next June (4th-7th), so if you wanted to join us, but didn't get a seat before it sold out, now is your chance, as we just opened up that one spot! Link in profile, and we'd love to welcome you together with the rest of the amazing group. 🙌🏻❤️ #signebaystudio #flowerphotogrqphy #darlingweekend #fellowmag #flowers #flowersofinstagram #photographyworkshop #sicilyworkshop

Just another day at the office and take a look at these gorgeous peonies my local flower shop had set aside for garbage, because they were 'a bit too old'. Of course I saved them and in my eyes they're just perfect, infact, they're just at the height of their beauty. 😍 After a little impromptu peony shoot, the day's computer work could continue. Happy Friday! 🌸☀️ #signebaystudio #peonies #flowers #peonylove #studio #photographystudio #daylightstudio #flowersofinstagram #thatsdarling #vogueliving #elledecoration #f52home #darlingweekend #fellowmag #interiorstylist #interiorphotographer #beautifulhomes #darlingweekend

The past week was partly public holiday in Denmark, so my two children and I spent some unforgettable time together in Sicily, road tripping across the island, while I was also location scouting for a client - the best combination, I’d say! 😍 As we drove through the winding roads and small, picturesque villages on our way from Catania to Palermo, we talked and talked, then stopped for lunch or a spontaneous gelato break or marveled at places where ‘Cinema Paradiso’ was filmed. Lucas (now 22) moved to his own place last year, and is busy with his own life, so moments together like these are cherished like crazy, and yes, my mom heart was indeed exploding while walking alongside these two beautiful humans inside and out for five days in a row! ❤️😭 Adventuring and traveling together is something we've always loved, and now that they are big, I still don’t know anything better that sitting in a car together, talking through everything for hours, from music, history, food, love, studies, friends, family.... 🥰 Then on we went to Cefalù, where these glimpses are from; One of the most beautiful medieval villages in Sicily, nestled on the northern coast, with evident traces of Greek and Roman history; We were in awe when entering the cathedral, built around 1130, and I’ve never seen anything as beautiful. Slide to see its’ magnificent wooden ceiling. We wandered the small streets and admired the beautiful beach, next morning of course we had granita and brioche at the piazza before continuing our journey. ❤️🙏🏼 I hope you're having a beautiful Sunday too. 🌸☀️ #sicilyroadtrip #visitsicily #beautifuldestinations #visititaly #italysegreta #passionpassport #tasteintravel #darlingweekend #travelswesome #huffpostgram

A little now and before snippets from the island kitchen. ☀️ A beautiful spring morning just the other day vs. how it looked like in the middle of the renovations. 😅 My favourite place is this room - that turned out to be the very heart of the merchants house. 💫 Wishing you a lovely Sunday! ❤️ #signebay_merchantsfarm #historichouse #historicpreservation #historicrenovation #interiordesigner #kitcheninspo #islandofmoen #islandhouse #kitchenrenovation #farmhousestyle #cosyhome
