Painting in my sketchbook every day until I finally fill up my very first sketchbook and can do a sketchbook tour. Day 1/9. How many days are we betting I make it? 😂 #sketchbook #gouache #holbeingouache #portraitpainting #trekellbrushes #artchallenge

My nephew calls me every day asking if I finished my painting with the $3 art kit he bought me for Christmas, and all I can do is quietly weep. . . #artchallenge #isthisevenwatercolor #itwastorture #thatswhatitwas

It's been a hot second since I've done a marker drawing. Thank you @copic_official_us for sending me some markers to try. 🖤 Pssst. Right now they have a promotion for one random Copic sketch marker for $1 (shipping included) for anyone who's ever been curious but can't quite justify the splurge. You can order at try.copicmarkers.com. Come back and let me know what color everyone gets. 👀 #sketchbook #alcoholmarker #copicmarkers #1dollarcopic

🚫GIVEAWAY OVER🚫 Hello! Shop will be updated with a large, limited-time print drop this Wednesday the 27th at 12:01 AM EST, but I'm actually posting this to give away some prints! I decided to embellish three of these four print proofs to make them one of a kind (a la @kelogsloops) and give them away to some random followers. I'll also be picking some people for some sticker packs. Even if you already have all the Walter's, there's always somebody in your life who could use some Walter stickers. To enter: Comment below with which print(s) is your favorite (1-4) or what your favorite Walter sticker is. Or both. Or which Walter is your favorite. That's all. I'll be picking people on Wednesday when my shop is all ready to go.

The Hermit, revisited. This will be available as a postcard and 11x14 print for a limited time in my shop update next Wednesday. Scroll through to see the original version. Every once in a while, I can't sleep at night because I'm haunted by old artwork I can't stand to look at anymore. Anyone else like to go back and "fix" old artwork because you know you can do better now? This piece is a love letter to some of my favorite things: sashiko, maki-e, and Klimt. I bet you guys didn't know I love Klimt. 🙂‍↔️ #tarotillustration #thehermit #majorarcana

Same subject two different mediums. Which one do you guys like more? Oil or watercolor? Y'all the oil painting stressed me out so much, but once I realized that I was trying to use a classic, toned down color palette that wasn't me and allowed myself to paint a little looser, it finally felt less tortured. I've been trying to practice how (educators tell you) you're supposed to use oil paints, but along the way I think I forgot that a medium is supposed to be used however you want to use it. Idk it just feels good that I'm reaching for brighter colors again after color very much bled out of my life. Some look behind the scenes of the ugly stages of each too, because trust the process. #studies #sketchbook #oilpainting #watercolorpainting #portrait
