Prawnappetit 🦐 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A visually enchanting brunch spot that is celebrated for its captivating aesthetics, and while its popularity brings a lively atmosphere, be prepared for the bustling energy as the charming space tends to get busy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @mint_siesta_lsk is located on bishops road, kabulonga, opposite @centromallzm. As soon as we walked in, the place was full to the brim; we were lucky to find a table. It was a tad cramped and unenjoyable for my liking. Beyond the aesthetics leaves much to be desired. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The drinks menu is quite extensive with options ranging from cocktails to ciders, beers and wines; I ordered the mango lime daiquiri to start- though lacking a strong alcohol taste. It quickly induced a pleasant buzz. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The food menu lacked clarity; though extensive, it felt as though I had very few options to choose from. My waiter recommended the peri peri prawns, and when it arrived, it fell short of expectations; with prawns in sauce and unappealing rice. I assumed it would be grilled prawns with fries. Fortunately, the dish was changed to my liking, turning out surprisingly good. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To wash down my meal, I had the strawberry daiquiri which was refreshing, and again lacking a strong alcohol taste, but still offering a pleasant buzz. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Slow service marred the experience; it lacked promptness requiring constant attention fort to flag down our waiter, culminating in an unusual payment method where the waiter had to follow us out with a point of sale. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got a slice of chocolate cherry cake to go and only ate it 3 days later & it was still amazingly fresh. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Despite the many hiccups, the delicious food , especially the fries and the lingering freshness of the cake compensated for the entire experience. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you been to mint siesta? Ouzos with charm 🇬🇷 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Who needs a passport when you can be teleported to Greece right here in Lusaka? @onoma.lsk transports you to the shores of Greece with its authentic atmosphere & exquisite cuisine; from the moment you step inside , you’re immersed in the Mediterranean charm, making you feel like you’re in a coastal taverna. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The place has completely transformed since the first time I had been there a few days after their opening last year; it’s a lot more colorful, clad with Greek paintings & ornaments, giving it a lot more character. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The menu is a delightful journey through Greek flavors & is complimented by a well curated drink selection. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My date and I both ordered shisha for K110 which took quite a bit of time. While we waited, I ordered the grandma’s Greek cocktail for K120; a potent & refreshing concoction that is a must try. It captures the essence of Greek hospitality in a glass; made with tequila, peach jam, orange liqueur & lime, it was just the right amount of sweet, I thoroughly enjoyed it! My date had the mojito for k95, a classic choice that offered a cool invigorating sip. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I ordered the chicken souvlaki with chips for K150, while my date ordered the chicken souvlaki with horiatiki, traditional Greek salad, for K150 instead. The chicken is tender, succulent & packed with authentic Greek spices, making it a savory delight: the accompanying chips were crispy and delicious. The horiatiki was a refreshing burst of flavors with its fresh veggies, olives and feta. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The service was exceptional, & the staff’s warm & friendly demeanor added to the overall experience. The place is so clean that my date was skeptical about the food being good because the secret ingredient is always questionable hygiene 🤭. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The food options included veggies such as chibwabwa, lumanda, impwa, katapa, okra & beans, boiled & grilled fish, tbone & chicken. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While we waited for our food, we were offered complimentary chikanda which we washed down with bottled @fanta & @cocacola , if you know you know. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I went for the tbone for K100 while my date went for the boiled fish for K65 which both came with 3 veggies each. Although the tbone was great, it lacked flavor as i had to keep adding salt to enjoy it. The star of the show for both of us was the fish! It was extremely tasty, I ended up eating more of it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The food was so delicious, we were so stuffed and failed to finish cause the portions are huge, and is it just me or does food taste better when you eat off someone else’s plate? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Down to earth has become my go to spot for Nshima. Abra-kebab-ra 🍗 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Greeting it’s guests with a bold BLACK sign that can’t be mistaken, I finally got to try out @officialblackzambia at twin palm mall. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The first thing that caught my eye, other than the distinctive signage at the front, was the warm and chic interior design as I walked in; it boasts an inviting aesthetic and the ambiance exudes a perfect balance of sophistication and comfort. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It was a hot day, so my date and I ordered a bucket of @brutalfruitza ruby apple spritzers that quenched our thirst just right. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m not a fan of chicken, but I decided to try out their renowned chicken espetada as recommended by our waitress, accompanied by a side of mashed potatoes for K140. To my pleasant surprise, the chicken was exceptionally delicious; perfectly grilled and bursting with flavor with each tender bite. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, My date on the other hand absolutely hated hers. She had one of their steak options for K250 which was extremely dry and flavorless; a total contrast of my meal. It was extremely well done despite it being pink on the middle- as would a medium well steak, a complete disappointment. The service fell short; the waiters seemed slow and at times overwhelmed, resulting in a mix up of our orders. There was a considerable delay in the arrival of our food which dampened the overall dining experience & it was especially disappointing that the sauces accompanying our dishes were brought half way through our meals(which made our meals slightly better, might I add- especially for the dry steak) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Despite the huge contrast on our food, black is definitely a place I’d love to visit again, hoping the service would be much better. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How has your experience at black been like? My date had the refreshing strawberry mojito for K70. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I opted for the sweet and sour chicken with smoked rice for K220 and while the chicken was tender and packed with a punch of sweetness, the smoked rice didn’t quite hit the mark. The smoky flavor was a tad overbearing, which overshadowed the overall harmony of the dish. However, paired together, it offered a burst of contrasting flavors. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My date savored the sublime Alfredo for K160. It was creamy,velvety & well seasoned. Shrimply delightful 🦐 If you're a seafood enthusiast @thronesseafoodandgrill_lusaka should be next on your list. Seeing as we were at Mandahill and they had an enticing two-for-one cocktail special they were offering, we decided to give them a try. I was immediately drawn to the marine-inspired decor that adorned the restaurant. The atmosphere is charming and captures the essence of the sea. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To begin my seafood escapade, I opted for the tempura shrimp sushi as a starter and it didn’t disappoint; the shrimp were perfectly cooked with a light and crispy tempura coating that enhanced their natural flavors. The sushi was delicious and the different textures went really well together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For my main course, I ordered the prawn and calamari with mashed potatoes. While the prawns and calamari were generally enjoyable, cooked to satisfaction, delivering a burst of seafood goodness in each bite, the mashed potatoes were a bit on the dry side and the sauces didn’t help much. The highlight of my dining experience was the two-for-one cocktail special; the drinks were not only generous in portion but also potent in flavor 😅 I ordered a strawberry daiquiri, and by the time I got the second one, I was already tipsy; the bar tender gave a very generous pour of rum. The staff were attentive and accommodating throughout my visit, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Nestled in a quiet section of lamasat complex in Makeni, the ambiance immediately set the stage for a delightful evening. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To quench our thirst, my date ordered the Cozy Mojito. Its vibrant blue color caught our attention, and the refreshing blend of mint and lime made each sip a tantalizing treat. I opted for the Mochachino frappe, and it was nothing short of amazing. The rich and creamy blend of coffee and chocolate danced harmoniously on my palate. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For starters, we decided to try the dynamite shrimp and honey BBQ wings. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic. The dynamite shrimp delivered an explosion of flavors, with a perfect balance of heat and tanginess. The crispy exterior gave way to tender shrimp, creating a delightful contrast. The honey BBQ wings were equally impressive, with a sticky glaze that had just the right amount of sweetness. I couldn't finish all the shrimp, so I took them home, and they tasted even better the next day! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For our mains, we chose the Rudz Classic burger and the Boneless half chicken. We were both blown away by our dishes. The Rudz Classic burger was a masterpiece. The juicy beef patty, cooked to perfection, was nestled between soft buns and topped with tangy pickles and a secret sauce that elevated the flavors to new heights. The Boneless half chicken was a tender and succulent delight. The chicken was expertly seasoned and grilled to juicy perfection. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Overall, our dining experience at Cozy was nothing short of extraordinary. The food was impeccable, bursting with flavor and made with evident care. The service was attentive and friendly, although there were a few minor hiccups. But the overall atmosphere and the incredible culinary journey more than made up for it. I highly recommend trying Cozy for a truly cozy and unforgettable dining experience.
