Pieces of her (Black) 50 x 70” Oil, graphite and flock on linen. Black is the color of excellence, strength, depth and superiority. I've spent years working with it in many tones and forms of media. I wanted to create an artwork that only explored the depths of the tone. This is it.

As the show closes, I wanted to reflect on the opening and the 38 pieces that made this exhibition and the people that were involved. Thank you to all that came, collectors, young artists, friends and family. Thank you to those that spurred me on from afar sending your lovely thoughts and high praise. Installation Day at Art Angels Featuring ‘The Modernist’ by FLORE “This collection represents my love for midcentury modern design, as well as my admiration for the abstract expressionist painters who have come before me, such as Cy Twombly, Willem Dekooning and Joan Mitchell. The Modernist series is a fusion of color field and gesture and action painting, resulting in large-scale, unique paintings that are intended to evoke emotion and trigger thought. One of the key features of this series is the use of white paint as a tool to subtract and create space in the composition. This technique is inspired by Japanese culture and design, and is reminiscent of the way bonsai trees are shaped by subtracting leaves to achieve a desired shape.
