Whelp, I had a pretty big hit yesterday. I was in lap 5 of the June sprints running my Honda Fit B-Spec car, and things were actually going really well. I was chasing Bill Collins and Peter Zeckert, two dudes with about 90 years of racing experience between the two of them, so I was pumped to be staying in the draft with them. Coming through the carousel, I head some kinda small rotational noise but it was nothing worth stopping for. Went though the kink flat out as usual, and kept it to the floor all the way to turn 12. (Canada corner if you're familiar) When I went to the brake pedal at a touch after the 3 marker, my front right rotor exploded, throwing the balance of the car left and right; pushing the piston out of the caliper and immediately losing all brakes. I was cooking, probably around 110 so; my first priority was getting the car to go straight and to not roll it. It was way too fast to try and scrub speed in the corner so I got it straight, headed for the pea gravel off track, and braced for impact. Right before I hit I crossed my arms in front of my chest and pulled my legs up a bit, and I'm real glad I did, because I didn't break my wrists or legs. BIG hit, WHAM! I thought I was done for. But the 6 point harness, containment seat, and HANS device did their job perfectly. No part of my body actually contacted the car; it was all belts so I was really thankful for that. AJ Machi happened to see it all happen and he said I hit the tire wall so hard that my rear end went up in the air a few feet. They took me up to medical for a look over and all the doctors said that I was fine. I definitely have some soreness and a bit of a headache this morning, but I'm actually good. The car however, needs a lot of fixing. Is totally repairable though. Going to take me a little bit to get it back together but I will race again this year for sure. Have to give a big thank you to my paddock partners Rob Conners and Will Ostrowski for dealing with my car while I was in medical, and for offering to dive right in on repairs if I wanted to run on Sunday. (I politely declined 😆) Hug your loved ones.

Went to the @dalimuseum with the fam this morning and WOW I have never wanted a weirdo twisty mustache so much in my life. Biggest thing I was surprised by was the sheer size of some of his paintings; had no idea that some of them are like 12 feet tall. Really great to see all of the obscure drawings and influences, not to mention the greats we all know and love. Very cool, highly recommend.

Here's a wicked 4-way marble that we made while I was out @everdreamstudio last month. Pretty rare to have 4 artists get together to jam all week and everyone gets along great the whole time and high-fives at the end; so I was super grateful to be a part of the project. Fresh back from the @petrolandtheroad rally in rural Kentucky this weekend, what a ripper! Such an absolutely gorgeous area, facilities, and roads. Some of the most twisty, blind, off-camber, narrow and smooth as glass blacktop I've ever driven. Really enjoyed flogging my GTI to the limit out there with the homies, and we made some new friends too! Shawn, Kristy, and Dan did a top notch job of putting this one together in every way, hats off to them. ❤️🍻🏁 PATR for life!

Keepin in moving! Spent the week in Colorado @everdreamstudio crushing out marbles with my absolute boys, @nathan_miers @piperdanglass @middleton_glassworks and @alexubatuba . Made some incredible work all week, then we had a little VIP drop at the studio; followed by a marble exchange event @exploreglassgallery . Great times all around. We did sell almost all of the work but I will be auctioning a couple of the remaining pieces this week. (Got some excellent shots from @thc_samuel for that) Also, a Bigup to 2ba's Yakitori Situation (TM) and the absolutely insane meal I had @workbench_dining in downtown Denver. Undoubtedly one of my top 3 meals of my life, no joke. Stay tuned!
