🏳️‍🌈ABOUT LGBT MUMMIES🏳️‍🌈 . LGBT Mummies was co-founded by married couple Laura-Rose & Stacey 6 years ago. They have been together 16 years & have 3 children by IUI & IVF (with Baby #4 currently on the way!) . When they considered starting a family, they soon realised there was a real lack of support for LGBT+ intended parents to seek guidance on family creation. . Forgetting conventional dating, we ended up travelling the world together weeks after dating and have hardly spent a night apart ever since. Sam proposed in front of the ocean in Tulum, Mexico last March and we got married on September one year ago today after just 6 weeks of planning on the Greek island of Evia surrounded by our closest loved ones and the sea. After 5 months of searching, we had finally found our donor on @xytexofficial and Mitra became pregnant on her first try of an unmedicated IUI at 41 years old. . We were so worried the journey would take longer and was given a 2 - 5% chance of conception so felt it was such a blessing when we discovered the happy news! . To prepare for the IUI and give herself the best possible chance of conception. Mitra gave up alcohol, processed food, household/skincare products containing endocrine disruptors such as BPA, parabens, ,ate a whole foods, varied organic diet, limited lifestyle stressors, prioritised sleep and hoped for the best! . 🇮🇪OUR JOURNEY: @timmscrottyquinlan 🇮🇪 . Myself and Anne have dreamed of having children and starting a family for such a long time. We met in 2011 and got married in 2017. Our journey to motherhood has been dictated by a myriad of factors. We both began our careers as teachers later in life, so we waited to achieve career stability before starting IUI in 2019. Then COVID stalled the process and the price of renting went up. By the time we started fertility treatment, we knew we could only afford two donor straws. In November 2021 we began our 1st cycle of IUI. This was successful but we quickly realised something wasn’t right due to early bleeding. It was diagnosed as an ectopic pregnancy at Christmas and we spent the Christmas period in and out of hospital. Following our emotional and physical recovery we went for our 2nd cycle and used our final straw in July 2022. We just couldn’t believe it when this was successful again and thankfully led to the birth of our beautiful son, Bodhi in March 2023. We now look at Bodhi and and can’t believe how lucky we are. We are in love with all that he is. He’s magnificent. I’m not going to lie, our journey to get to this point was tough. It was heartache and worry and loss but now it is more than we could ever have dreamed of and we wouldn’t change any of it because it all led to Bodhi. .
