The Point Of It All 🎶 If you, someday, think that you'll have no need of me, Return all those memories, I'll take them gladly. Whenever this world gets too much for you to be, Blame me for that, and you go to sleep peacefully. You'll never be mine, that, very well I can see, But it doesn't mean that I can't love you selflessly, So, all that's ever hurt you, give all that to me, Be happy, be free, enjoy your time in Italy. The point I'm trying to make, to be put simply, Is, that sometimes this love pans out quite differently. Quit worrying, about burying the past, pointlessly. My humble submission to them 🖋️ When in love, there is no point in looking for a point to it. In the pointlessness of it all lies the love's wherewithal... 🖋️ This poem, half written, was sitting in my drafts for many months. It was inspired by the lovely picture of Odin's iconic sculpture 'Le Penseur', clicked by my dear friend Lisa @elepenlove @photography.musings during her trip to Paris. The tag made me dig it out and edit the same. The 'Thinking Man' seems to an apt icon to the oft wondered question, "What is the point of it all?" Thank you so much, my dear Lisa. Love you🙏🙏🙏 🖋️ Soft syllable monorhyme, dodecasyllabic verse, to accentuate the vagueness inherent in the question 🖋️ Trivia: Auguste Rodin visited Florence during his tour of Italy in 1875 spanning two months. He admitted that this was the single greatest influence on his art. He also ended up marrying the love of his life, Rose Beuret, finally in the last year of both their lives. 🎶 The autumn and the falling standards of poetry 🎶 In this hope, i pick up my pen, That you will, every now and then, Quietly read what i have written, About all those things which you wish were forgotten. And when you do, i wish that you, Would write back a poem or two. You write much better than i do, But then you have always known that, haven't you? No more in poems let us rue, All that which we have forsaken. Lets take those chances, me and you, Which, normally, we would have never taken.
