Today made extra special because this 50th anniversary of Wharf-to-Wharf became my and Karl George’s 💍 FIRST race together 🥰. #W2W is my FAVORITE road race tradition with our Wolfpack PACK creating a sea of orange along the Capitola streets. My only goal each year for this race is to place Top 100 and improve my finish time and position each year. It’s always a fun surprise for me because I go into this race purely on race walk training. 9th Woman, 138th Overall. Chip time: 34:26 (5:44/mi Ave) Second fastest on the All-Time list for Wolf woman. 🧡✨ I am SUPER IMPRESSED by my middle-distance / sprinter minded fiancé who impromptu decided to run thinking it would only be 5km 😝😄🙃. He surprised himself, too. Last weekend RBO held an event at @decathlonemeryville for RBO participants to pick up new running shoes, sports bras, race medals and bibs, and other goodies. In total, we were able to provide 64 pairs of new running shoes from Decathlon to our students, with many more students, volunteers, and families going home with new running shoes from RBO’s existing stock. We also gave away brand new sports bras and running apparel donated by @oiselle, ribbons from the @lmjs_run 4th Sunday Run, medals for our seniors and others who ran the @thebayrace Three Bridge Challenge, and more goodies from friends and sponsors. Overall, a successful day! Thank you to head coach Christine, coach and board member Rick, board member Joe, and program director Edward for creating, planning, and executing this event. Thank you to all our students, volunteers, and friends who helped us hand out shoes & bras and took on other tasks to make this event a success.
