Some artwork for last month’s drawing challenge, which was on drawing mountains! No matter how much I practice them, I find them so difficult to draw. They are huge, sharp, and intimidating - the complete opposite of my artistic comfort zone! Which is why it’s good for me to practice painting them from time to time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Check out my stories for some of the amazing work that other artists created for this challenge ~ And if you want to join this month’s challenge, head on over to my bio and join the flame tier! You’ll get reference images, inspiration, and resources to help you on your way 🧡 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #speedpaint #natureart #landscapepainting #speedpainting #illustration #photoshop #digitalart

Here’s a handy little reel 🤓 See what I did there?? Share your best hand puns with me in the comments! 🙌 #handart #anatomy #digitalart #handanatomy #drawingpractice #drawingchallenge #artprocess #howtodraw

Just a friendly reminder that my print shop is updated with my latest paintings. I’ve been cycling between aquatic and domestic themes, so maybe there’s something there for you! Some of my recent mindless procreate doodles. I’ve been having a lot of fun just playing around with textures and blobby shapes in a more simplified style. Do you ever find that your style changes when you try a different tool? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #characterart #illustration #characterdesign #conceptart #illustration #sketch #digitalart #procreateart

There’s an owl that lives near my home and whenever it flies by, it always takes me a moment to realize it’s an owl and not a weirdly shaped headless bird. Do you have any good owl stories? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #owls #owlart #animalart #birdart #digitalart #animalsketch #artpractice #artistsoninsta

Some leaf art based on reference pictures I took on my morning walks. I love drawing characters, but sometimes I really prefer drawing things that don’t (technically) have a face. How about you? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #natureart #digitalpainting #digitalart #artistsoninstagram #artistsofig #springart #naturepainting #procreateart

She either has no pupils, or just really huge ones. I haven’t decided which one it is yet. Check out my stories for some of the process of this one! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #digitalart #speedpainting #drawingprocess #procreate #procreateart #ipadart #digitalportrait #digitaldrawing

I made a tutorial about drawing clouds, but it ended up also being about a bunch of other stuff, like shape variation, hard vs soft edges, and conveying volume. Here’s some snippets from that video for you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #digitalart #speedpainting #drawingprocess #learntodraw #arttutorial #artprocess #arttip

Playing around with expressive shapes in procreate ~ sometimes I want to draw realistic and shiny art, and sometimes I just want to go the complete opposite way. I can’t choose one though, so I cycle between them forever. What style do you prefer? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #characterart #illustration #characterdesign #conceptart #illustration #sketch #digitalart #procreateart

Have you ever gone on a walk and found yourself in COMPLETE AWE over a cluster of random plants? I always feel like an idiot when I whip out my phone to try and capture the perfect photo of them while other people walk by and wonder what I’m doing. But it does give me great reference images! Here’s a study of some leaves that I photographed on one such morning walk 🍃 Do you ever take your own reference pictures? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #natureart #digitalpainting #digitalart #artistsoninstagram #artistsofig #springart #naturepainting #procreateart

Getting back into procreate after a long time of not using it, so I’m experimenting with different brushes and workflows right now. In general I feel like the main perk of working this way is being able to do it anywhere, which makes it ideal for days that I don’t feel like getting off the couch 😂 What’s your favorite spot to create art? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #digitalart #speedpainting #drawingprocess #procreate #procreateart #ipadart #digitalportrait

Another drawing that I made for my artbook, the Style of Loish! Looking back I can really tell that I created a lot of the artwork for that book in the summer, because so many of them are about swimming. Also, do NOT try this at home, kids 😠 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #oceanart #underwaterart #illustration #digitalart #igartists #digitalpainting
