Wells Bring Hope

Happy #WomenWednesday! Here are three truths about women and the water crisis: --- Truth #1: Women and girls who are expected to collect water in Niger are at an increased risk of abuse and assault --- Truth #2: When women give birth in facilities without clean water, both their lives and the lives of their children are at risk; Niger's maternal mortality rate of 509 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births is one of the highest in the world --- Truth #3: When women and girls walk for miles each day to find and collect water (often times unsafe water), this takes time away from pursuing education or a career

Wells Bring Hope sends a huge thank you to The Hydrators, a group of elementary school students who started a fundraiser in support of our organization. Selling water bottle stickers at recess, their goal was to raise $100, but they blew that out of the water (pun intended), raising a total of $326.70! Thank you to Jade, Beverly, Jameson, Faith, Aashna, and Christine for their huge success!
