༄༅།།ཁྲུས་བབས་བཀྲ་ཤིས་བདེ་ལེགས།།

The heavy downpour trickled down to drops and the dark clouds parted ways for golden rays to illuminate the structure as magnificent on the ground. Ushered by the chants of prayers, rhythmic instruments, songs, dances and smiling faces of young and old, Druk Migjur Dechen Dzong in Pemagatshel, the blissful land of lotus as they say, came to live today. Adding shine to the historic event, His Royal Highness Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck graced the consecration ceremony that was presided by His Eminence Tsugla Lopen Karma Rangdol. It now stands as the symbol of convergence as the Dzong formally serves both administrative and religious purposes for the people of Pemagatshel. “What we are witnessing today is the realisation of sincere ideas, efforts and prayers, and I want to thank every single person involved in making this happen,” Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering, who was part of the special occasion, said. The Dzong construction that started in June 2012 received fresh impetus in recent times, particularly during pandemic to see its completion as soon as possible. “May the blessed structure, through the presence of His Royal Highness and prayers of Tsugla Lopen, benefit the people of Pemagatshel and through them, the rest of the country,” prime minister said. In festive spirit, and joining the people of Pemagatshel, Lam Netens, Dzongdas, Drangpons, and Royal Bhutan police representatives from nearby districts attended the celebration. #pemagatsheldzongkhag #DrukMigjurDechenDzong #ConsecrationCeremony #HistoricEvent

I join my friends from India in celebrating the remarkable journey of their nation today. It is always inspiring to learn the stories of sacrifices, resilience and spirit of freedom that defined and shaped the India we know today. And as close neighbour and age-old friends, Bhutan takes pride in all the achievements and progress India has attained so far. Over the decades, through highs and lows, India has been a true friend in every step of the way. We cherish every milestone that we have achieved together. As India continues to fulfill new dreams and attain greater heights within and beyond the country, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we wish you a smooth sail free of all obstacles. May the people of India see lasting happiness and progress. A very Happy Independence Day! Dr Lotay Tshering @narendramodi @indiainbhutan
