The beautiful kids of Bantayan Island, Cebu, Philippines.. :) Of all the things I try to shoot to show the beauty of places, these types of photos are always the best memories for me. Kids running around, scampering over things, laughing with their playmates- safe, wild and free with not a care in the world. The first time I saw something like that in the Philippines, alterted, I looked for parents and saw none. So I asked asked a local why they kids were not being watched by parents. He smiled and said the whole barangay meaning neighborhood was watching out for them. I smiled to that beauty. Kids cannot do that anymore in the USA :( On Bantayan island I ran into these happy kids seen here and just had to take a quick photo. A bit later at a beach resto I ordered several dishes that was deliberately way too much for me. When it arrived at my table, I looked through it and had the waitress bring some to- go boxes and before I ate anything I moved more than half of it all to multiple different to-go containers and asked for extra utensils. I saw this boy again in the center and two of his girlfriend playmates so I motioned over to them...the excited boy came first. I handed him all the to go food while still hot...it was a lot... he walked about 5 meters away, sat down followed by his two playmates and carefully doled out the food share for the two girls first, then himself last. They were all smiles. That is "The Heart of the Filipino" 🙂 I see beauty in all things. An example of our Bracketed Exposure Techniques for @BEGrandResort When you have a huge light disparity between the darker interior of a dining area, spa, outdoor massage area, etc, yet in the background is a very bright tropical view, a balanced exposure is not possible. Notice how the bright exterior view of this garden pool view is properly exposed, yet so is the room interior set to be a more tranquil light level? We can't tell you how many blown out view photos we see on resort websites. This reflects poorly on the branding. We shot this and over a 1K more images when we produced a significant amount of content for the then new 5 star @begrandbohol luxury resort on the quiet part of Panglao island. This image was shot using a 40 megapixel fuill frame cam, a fast full frame wide angle lens, with the cam programmed to shoot 9 rapid fire burst mode images with an EV exposure range of 3 all set on a carbon fiber tripod. All 9 RAW file format images are layered together, rendered out to Photoshop and balanced to the client's wishes. Now we shoot using a newer cam that shoots RAw images at 62 megapixels, or using pixel shift programming, 200 megapixels for each still image. It will also shoot footage at 8k 25fps as well as bracketed exposures. For resort clientele we now remove the wide angle barrel distortion expressed as titled outer vertical lines and with software, render it out as a rectilinear images, meaning vertical lines are straightened and vertical on the image periphery. THAT is how a pro shoots these significant light disparity images. We can artistically defocus the background to varying degrees which concentrates the viewers eyes onto the subject such as a beach resort lifestyle model. The Philippines is "A Place They Call Paradise ©". Onuk island and the entire Balabac region at the very south end of Palawan island is additional proof. Balabac consists of a region with many smaller islands, all totaling about 26. Many are uninhabited, but always accessible by friendly bangkero island hopping tour operators. We prefer to hire an island hopping outfitter with no other guests so we can shoot content when and where on our schedule, but for others, it's a total blast to be with Filipino tourists sharing their Country, legendary hospitality and humor with us foreigners. Onuk island and all of Balabac is accessed by flying into Puerto Princesa and taking an inexpensive bus to the Cherry Bus Terminal at the south end, then from there a taxi, Jeepney or tricycle to the Buliluyan port. You can freelance it all, but best to arrange in advance with a tour operator if it's your first time-its very inexpensive...ok, its FABULOUSLY inexpensive. Take sunscreen, a cloth facecover and a giant hat....and for you Instagram models, tiny photoshoot bikinis, as once you land on a tiny uninhabited beach with selfie cam in hand you'll achieve Instagram fame in Paradise. :) Tour operators will arrange snorkeling gear, lunch and drinks as you must do some snorkeling. Like the PhilStar and Phil Inquirer interviewed and quoted me as saying; "Being in the Philippines and not diving is like owning a Ferrari and never driving it". Been to Camiguin island in the Philippines? This is my gwapa barkada @heykarisss at Camiguin's Santo Nino Cold Springs. She makes a great u/w model! Camiguin island, known as "The island Born of Fire" for it's volcanic origins is a REALLY nice place to travel & vacay at. So nice, exotic & affordable! It's now really easy to get to with 4 daily flights from Manila/ Cebu. Via Cebu it's just a 45 minute scenic flight far less expensive then the a whole day to take 2 ferries & a bus & a lot of waiting it takes to go over water. The new airport on Camiguin island is really modern, and no crowds at all! Wait across the street for your flight & dine at my fav the authentic small Italian resto La Dolce Vita. My fav lunch or dinner place on the island is the most whimsical @thebeehivecamiguin You just have to see this place, but take your camera! Camiguin island highlights are adjacent uninhabited Mantigue island for killer wide angle snorkeling & diving, & the EPIC White island for your Instagram selfie-fame! haha. Also visit Bure Soda Springs, the Ardent Hot Springs, the Sunken Cemetary, the historic Gui-ob Church Ruins from hundreds of years ago, hiking up mist-shrowded Mt Hibok-hibok, the Giant Clam nursery, ATV rides, a zip line then lunch at "The Fish Pond", an aerobatic plane ride, & World Class scuba diving with killer macro critters on the volcanic sand north shore & spectacular wide angle diving at adjacent Mantigue island. Camiguin island is really clean, quiet, well managed by Gov Romualdo and Candace Borromeo-Dael runs the most helpful @camiguintourismoffice Camiguin tourism is really increasing at this little jewel of an island thanks to the efforts of fellow scuba barkada PDOT Reg X10 Director May Salvana - Unchuan The only thing better than all this?
