There is no such thing as a perfect one size fits all template when it comes to fitness. We are all our own little ❄️ - with different schedules, goals, training backgrounds, available equipment, and of course likes/dislikes. We go through seasons in our lives where we may want to focus on something new, re-visit an old stand-by, have more or less time, or may need to completely start over. These are 4 examples of ways that the 🔑 members use our resources for their varying “fitness focus". A few tips? • Don’t try to “focus” on doing too much at one time. Generally, it’s better to choose 1-2 things you are working toward and dedicate time to them. • While it’s not “wrong” to avoid the daily workouts completely (remember: you can’t mess this up) - keep in mind that building a solid foundation of general fitness will translate to both overall health and support almost any goal you may have. • Separate your “focus” days a bit during the week. Having a rest day somewhere between them may also be super beneficial. • Don’t feel the need to “double up” on your focus days. We get it - the FOMO of missing out on the daily workouts can be REAL. But putting your energy into the main focus that day will usually lead to better results. • You aren’t required to have a focus at all times. Many of our members stick to the dailies pretty exclusively. • Consistency is key. Example: If you truly want to get stronger - be consistent in adding focus workouts that will help you improve strength. • Get a buddy to follow the focus program with you - or join in a challenge or group! The 🔑 Control Your Fitness Challenge starts next week! And although selecting a Fitness Focus is NOT a requirement for the CYF Challenge, members have the option of choosing one for the 5 weeks! Can you transition from the bar muscle up - straight into the toes to bar? 😳 The 🔑 Gymnastics EMOM Extra Program is all about practicing and developing strength and stamina in fun complexes like this one! For this workout: Ideally this would be done as an unbroken complex (without coming off of the bar). At the very least - break the bar/ring muscle ups into 2 singles and go straight from the second one into the toes to bar reps - keeping those unbroken. Focus on pressing away from the bar or rings after the first muscle up to initiate the kip swing to prep for the second rep. Similarly use the same push away to initiate the kip swing for the toes to bar. I would say the biggest challenge is going from that second bar muscle up into that first toe to bar. Be ready to brace that midline and as soon as you get into that kip, fire those lats, push back against the bar to go right into that first toe to bar. Once you get that first one down, the rest will feel nice and smooth. You may also choose to do strict muscle ups for this workout! If needed - you may choose to do jump assisted muscle ups and then re-set for the toes to bar reps. If you haven’t done a lot of gymnastics work, it’s okay.
