What grade is your little one going into this year?? Piper starts Kindergarten on the 23rd - and I start in my classroom on Monday for training🤓! I will be teaching in a Waldorf school so I have a learning curve ahead of me! When I left my job in Ontario I really didn’t know if I would ever teach again - but I’m so excited about the environment and the community - it's a really unique school and concept! I can't wait to share it with you. And a fun bonus is that Piper will be in the same school! It's only Kindergarten to grade four, so its a tight knit tribe of students that spend lots of time together! Although I won’t be teaching P, it will be neat to be with her throughout the day. Thank you thank you thank you - from the bottom of my heart. I am blown away by your love and support! I am just going through your comments and DMs with tears ..for those of you who showed up for my daughter’s story and demonstrated such incredible solidarity - Bless your Hearts!!! I cannot thank you enough - this has been a long journey for us as a family. I am also soo grateful for those of you who felt safe enough to share your own stories with me. I really didn’t know what to expect from sharing - and You reminded me that we as humans are such compassionate beings that can See another’s struggle, even if it has never been a personal lived experience ..and still lift your fellow human up with love and community. I am excited to share Part 3 where I get deeper into our healing protocols and treatments. Piper’s Journey Part 2: Today we understand that Piper's "diagnosis" is complex - it involves many layers like an onion and we have been learning about those layers over the years.  So what we have learned is that she has the MTFHR gene - amongst other genetic mutations that are important factors. The MTFHR gene affects an individual's ability to metabolize. I will share resources and explain MTFHR in length in my stories. There are a number of complex genetic factors that contribute - but essentially, there are a group of individuals in this world that are more susceptible or sensitive to external influences than others.  I know this now, but as a first time/new mom I just thought that she is sensitive, period. Fast forward to her routine shots (and this is where I ask you to be compassionate) - and her body could not metabolize the toxins. Her fever spiked, she screamed non stop and became incredibly stiff - arching her back. We brought her to the hospital and I told them what I believed was happening. Over the course of several months I felt embarrassed and shamed for even believing or saying out loud what I believed happened to my daughter - my husband and I have always been diligent with "shots" - and I had always been told that mother's who spoke of injury are insane and anti-V. I decided to give Piper a protective homeopathic protocol before and after her shots to help her to metabolize them better but it didn't help. After the first incident she changed - and then there was the second and third - because I thought I was doing the right thing by continuing. Her final diagnosis after years of investigating through pediatricians, doctors, functional medicine doctors, naturopaths etc - is that she suffered neurological damage caused by encephalitis (brain swelling). In her first year of life we were treading water - experiencing severe rashes, stimming (which I mentioned in Post One), tremors and debilitating stomach issues. Within just a few weeks she will be exempt from V's due to the reactions she has sustained. I constantly wonder whether I could have prevented it all - continued BELOW!👇🏼
