@tipsyrider shares some sage insights on his parts bin Disc Trucker build: “What started as an excuse to get rid of a bunch of spare parts I had accumulated, wherein the plan was to buy a used frame and sell the build as a complete, turned out to be something quite special that I now can’t bring myself to part with. I’m not sure how, but this @surlybikes Disc Trucker parts-bin build became imbued with some special sort of magic that made it turn out to be one of the most fun, sprightly, and efficient basket-townie bikes I’ve ridden in a while. Having owned no fewer than three Canti Long Haul Truckers over the years, those adjectives are not ones I’d normally associate with a bike designed for heavy laden riding; at least in my experience. In short, it feels entirely different than the other LHTs I’ve ridden in the past, in all the best ways! Hopping on this thing feels playful and fun, with quick steering and an oddly effortless ride that has me reaching for it over our Skid Loader for a lot of errands around town lately - at least for those that don’t require more than a front basket’s worth of a load.
