Στη συλλογή Κατσίγρα το έργο της με τίτλο «Μαργαρίτες» χαρακτηρίζεται από ένα υπαιθριστικό ιδίωμα ιμπρεσιονιστικής υφής, και παρά τη συγκαταβατική του θεματολογία, κρύβει μια δεύτερη, βαθύτερη ανάγνωση. Η σύγχρονη εικαστική έκθεση δανείζεται τον τίτλο «Μαργαρίτες», από την ομώνυμη ανθογραφία της ζωγράφου, και επαναπροσεγγιζει το έργο της, δημιουργώντας έναν οπτικό γραμματισμό, προσδίδοντας του, έτσι, μια σύγχρονη καλλιτεχνική υπόσταση. Δεκατρείς καλλιτέχνιδες τιμούν την σπουδαία ζωγράφο, κατασκευάζοντας «εντυπώσεις» του έργου της. Οι Μαργαρίτες, που παρουσιάζονται στο αίθριο του μουσείου, πειραματίζονται με τις αισθητηριακές εμπειρίες του θεατή. Έχουν ως στόχο να διεγείρουν την κριτική του σκέψη, εξερευνώντας έναν συμφυρμό κοινωνικών αποχρώσεων, και να εντείνουν την βιωματική του τέρψη, μέσα από μια πληθώρα υφών και εικόνων. Με μια μεταμοντέρνα αισθητική προσέγγιση «επικαιροποιούν» τα αγριολούλουδα του έργου της με αλληγορικούς συμβολισμούς. Ακροβατούν ανάμεσα στις επαναστατικές ιδέες του Ιμπρεσιονισμού και στο «χρέος» τους ως σύγχρονες καλλιτέχνιδες να θίξουν την τωρινή εικαστική ελευθερία, φέρνοντας στο φως τις αντίξοες συνθήκες στις οποίες έζησαν και εργάστηκαν οι καλλιτέχνιδες μιας άλλης εποχής. Σαν δημιουργικό γραφείο αναλάβαμε το σχεδιασμό της οπτικής επικοινωνίας της έκθεσης σε εφαρμογές εκτύπωσης καθώς και ψηφιακές εφαρμογές που πλαισιώνουν τις ανάγκες του project. Eργαλειοποιήσαμε την τυπογραφία για την οπτικοποίηση του βασικού μηνύματος και δημιουργήσαμε τις δικές μας μαργαρίτες ως σήμανση στις περισσότερες εφαρμογές συνδέοντας έτσι αρμονικά τη γραφιστική σχεδίαση με τα έργα των εικαστικών που συμμετείχαν στην έκθεση. The contemporary art exhibition borrows the title “Daisies” from the painting of the same name, and revisits the work of the original artist creating a visual literacy, thereby elevating it to a synchronous artistic status. Thirteen female artists honour the great artist, creating “impressions” of her daisies. The Daisies that are exhibited in the atrium space of the museum experiment with the aesthetic experiences of the observer, having as their focus the awakening of their critical thinking, exploring a tangled social palette and extending their experiential delight though an abundance of image and textures. Through a post-modern aesthetic approach, the wild flowers of Thalia’s painting are brought up to date, utilising allegorical symbolism. Tumbling between revolutionary ideas of Impressionism and their “debt” as contemporary female artists to embrace current artistic freedom, the artists in the exhibition bring to light the adversarial conditions in which female artists of other times lived and worked. As a creative studio, we were hired to develop the visual communication of the exhibition with applications such as prints and digital designs to fulfill the needs of the project. We utilized the typography to visualize the exhibitions message so we created our own daisies as a mark in most applications, thus harmoniously connecting the graphic design with the artworks of the visual artists that participated in the exhibition. Wandering along the steep winding paths through the story of art , there emerges in front of us art movements that praise the female presence. Impassable, lonely and abandoned, like overgrown country walkways are the routes that lead to female creators. Those that managed to discard the smothering veil of the muse, created themselves the image that they wished to portray. Throughout the history of art, likewise in the permanent collections of museums, the absence of women creators echoes with its wail of barreness. Her age however insisted on seeing men as superior and more able, and so was not able to accept her artistic equality. Art critics of the time frequently referred to her in sexist phraseology, demoting her womanly nature and her right as a woman to create.
