Wellity well well well….Who’d have ever thought I’d be in a real life art book. Thank you so much to @karina.dias.pires (who) not only in her own right, is an amazing artist, but a beautiful and sensitive human being. I am honoured to be included in the pages of Artists at Home: inside the creative spaces of 32 female artists in Australia. This book has the stories of strong female artists in this country. All of whom, I admire greatly. Published by @thamesandhudsonau and available in all good book stores, museums and shops now. . . . . . . #artistsathome #artpublication #artbook #femaleartists #australianartists #karinapires #sallybourke #contemporaryartists

Please join us tomorrow night for the opening of “Upriver Downriver” a showcase of 50 Hunter artists curated by Kim Blunt @maitlandregionalartgallery starting at 6pm. 👁️ Upriver Downriver is an expansive exhibition showcasing the creative energy along the banks of the mighty river that flows from a small brook in the Mount Royal Range through Wonnarua Country in the Upper Hunter and Maitland then down through Awabakal and Worimi Country to the Port of Newcastle. The Mayan, the Coquun, the Hunter. This river flows with all the paradox filled philosophy of Heraclitus who said around 2,500 years ago ‘No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.’ Both poetic and pragmatic, this sentiment is embedded in the shifting form of a river and the shaping of communities. This winter, we invite you to explore our entire building filled with ideas of place from deeply personal reflections of home to the political and environmental realities of a region in transition.
