Jio tattoo

It’s the ability to be with everything that happens inside you. Holding yourself through all of the emotions and the lack thereof. And allowing yourself to be held by others And maybe by something bigger than you. Thank you Nat for getting this flash design that I love so much. Done in Barcelona.

Still one of my favorite tattoos. Done in San Francisco back in 2020. Transformation of the Self. #lineworktattoo #linearttattoo #linetattoo #favoritetattoo #customtattoodesign #blackworktattoo #tattooreel #metamorphosis #selftransformation

It’s interesting to feel how each drawing I’ve made, when I look at it, it connects me straight back to the time in my life and the place where I was when I made it. I made this one in Tepoztlan, Mexico, some years ago. And not just the place and time, but even my emotional experience. I remember very well how I sat outside during sunset, had the beautiful neighbor’s cat on my lap, feeling peaceful, romantic and slightly nostalgic. I remember making these lines, not knowing exactly how the drawing will end up looking but just trusting the process. As the sun came down I could see less and less of what I was doing and I finished just in time before darkness. Then the next day I placed this drawing on this pink table in the living room of house I was renting, I lighted an incense and took some photos with daylight. I left the drawing on that table for weeks, looking at it every time I passed by. This drawing is now available as a print if you also wish to pass by it every day and look at it ☺️ Find the shop in the link in my bio. #linedrawing #lineart #lineartwork #drawingprocess #drawingreel #sketchbookdrawing #drawinglines #spiritualdrawing #spiritualart #artwithmeaning

Embracing the inner chaos A flash tattoo for Alex 🙂

🌈 embrace Thank you Erez for coming from Israel for this lovely project! 😌

Going back in time through my exploration of Self. It’s very common for artists to use themselves as their main subject. I think both because it’s the easiest - just look at yourself in the mirror or take a photo and use that as reference. But there is also a deeper meaning. I always feel that whenever I draw something or someone, I get to know that thing or person better. To draw them, I need to study their proportions and features, I pay close attention, I am present, I take them in. And aren’t we all here trying to understand ourselves more? So for an artist, specially one that enjoys making portraits, drawing themselves is a powerful tool for self-discovery and introspection. Would you agree?

I was born in Russia. From 9 to 20 years old I lived in Portugal. So I speak Russian, Portuguese, English and now Spanish 😇 I studied Fine-Arts in the University of Lisbon. I never finished my university degree because I fell in love with tattooing and couldn’t do anything else besides that and traveling! Fun fact: I started tattooing in 2012 and I only got my first tattoo in 2013 (strict mom’s fault 😅 - who is not strict anymore). I lived on and off in Berlin for almost 10 years and now I call Barcelona my home. I’m a Leo sun and a Capricorn rising. Thank you for supporting my work ❤️ Photos taken by @monicasampietro______ #tattooartist #tattooartistlife #lineartist #artistlife #portraitofanartist #artistsoninstagram #tattooist

Filip came for his second flash tattoo. The first one (scroll to the last photo) was done 4 years ago in Berlin and healed really nicely. To quote his words: “The only regret I have with the first tattoo I got from Jio is not going bigger” 😅 Do take note of that in case you’re planning your next tattoo right now 😉😇 Thank you again Filip.
