Is the Maldives on your bucketlist 🏝️? Its one of my favorite places in the world and this was our 3rd visit. Its truly so spectacular and a destination you must visit atleast once in your lifetime. I'm answering some questions on my stories, but here's a quick cheat sheet guide on few things many of you asked. I go into this in a lot more detail in my travel guide on the blog ( just google Jyo maldives guide and it will show up). SAVE this post for your future trip : 🏝️BEST TIME TO GO : Dec - March for the best weather! 🏝️BEST STOPOVER ( for people travelling from the US) : Dubai, Istanbul or Singapore are all great options! 🏝️IDEAL TIME TO SPEND : I would suggest a minimum of a week or 10 days split over 2 resorts. Just so that you get to experience 2 different atolls! 🏝️THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING WHERE TO STAY : There are literally a 100 resort options to choose from and options for every kind of traveller from families, honeymooners, couples, friends, etc. Some things to keep in mind while choosing a hotel that works for you - budget, atoll location, Island size, house reef,etc. For instance we chose to stay at @sixsenseslaamu cos of its spectacular location in a remote unspoiled southern atoll and also cos it was the perfect “barefoot sustainable luxury” style of property that we were looking for! I cannot recommend it enough! 🏝️HOW TO GET AROUND IN THE MALDIVES? Everything will be organized by your resort usually. Depending on the location of your resort you would need either a boat, seaplane or domestic flight transfer. Bear this in mind in terms of travel time and additional costs to factor. 🏝️THINGS TO DO : While I can never ever get bored of just laying out in the beach, I get that most people love to have things to do on their vacay. Most resorts have many fun things to do like :snorkeling, diving, water sports, cooking classes, excursions – like snorkeling excursions, visit to a local island, sunset cruises, sandbank picnics, etc Feel free to ask me any other questions below or you can always send me a DM too! Made it back to the Maldives for the third time and checked in to the beautiful @sixsenseslaamu 😍 This property has been on my bucketlist forever!
