A commission I did earlier this year. I didn't want to share the image online until the client got to see it in person first. Now that they have, the rest of you get to view it. This was done with fineliners and ink wash. · #traditionalart #fashion #inkdrawing

Newest page from Kings of Nowhere volume 3. I'm finally at a point where the pages are looking exactly as I want them to. I'm getting a better grasp of my tools too, so I'm not spending an entire day on pages either, whereas when I first began, a day and a half was the average time it took me to produce a page. This chapter gets WILD towards the end, so I'm stoked to share more. One day at a time! ✌️ · #kingsofnowhere #anime #manga #traditionalart #comic

I love me some Ganondorf. I'm still playing BOTW. I hardly get time to play games, but once I'm done with that, I'll spend the next 25 years playing TOTK 😭 I hear it's even better than BOTW. It's hard for me to imagine. • #legendofzelda #tearsofthekingdom #anime #manga #traditionalart #comics

An hour and a half crammed into forty seconds. I'm starting to feel very comfortable with the pencil and smudge tool. It's been a while since I've posted any KON pages, and that's because I've been rewriting the ending to volume 3. What I generally used to do when I wrote was that I'd imagine a scene prior to sitting down to write. However, once I wrote that particular scene down, I'd continue writing and imagine the rest of the plot on the spot. That method proved to be fualty for me. I NEED to imagine each scene individually before I write it. That way, I play the sequence in my head, ask myself vital questions, and figure out plot holes before spending hours writing on the whim and making mistake after mistake. I've cut out unnecessary banter, streamlined the events from point A to B, and gave purpose to important individuals. The image above is the title card for the newest chapter. Happy Father's day to all the good dads out there. 🍻

Been a while since I've posted. Spent the last week adjusting to my new home after road tripping across Canada. I whipped these up a few nights ago using photos I found off Pinterest, aside from the train station image, which the bg was actually rendered by my talented friend. Just having fun with these, nothing to publish in a book or anything, but it's nice to see my characters in well established backdrops without having to bust my butt off for an entire day trying to paint them. I'll be back with more eye candy sooner than later. Cya! · #anime #manga #kingsofnowhere #digitalart

I saw my buddy @mlopez.artz drawing some Ridleys and I felt inspired. I've never played Metroid games as a kid, but I do like playing as him in SSB. Man, creature designs are my jam. It feels so good to just doodle some dragons. • #metroid #traditionalart #supersmashbros #comicartist

Another sketch from my early 20's. Princess Mononoke is one of those movies that has the ability to change an artist's path forever. So good. • #anime #manga #traditionalart #princessmononoke #studioghibli

As I pack up for the big move, I came across art I had drawn back in late 2016 and early 2017- before Koteri Ink and before Kings of Nowhere even existed. All the drawings you see here were done during my very long lunch breaks at my studio job. The monotony of my studio work had me craving an outlet for my creativity. I was 22, 23 years old, and I dreamed of sharing my art with the world. After work, I'd go home and storyboard my graphic novel that I wasn't sure I'd actually ever get to do. If it wasn't for a trip to anime expo in Los Angeles with my girlfriend, @janicesung , we would never have bit the bullet and quit our studio jobs to fulfill our dreams. You probably wouldn't be on this account, and I wouldn't be nearing the completion of Kings of Nowhere Volume 3. Always aim for the stars, amigos. • • #anime #manga #comics #traditionalart #samus #creaturedesign #design
