Hi, I’m Ása! I’m from Iceland, my husband Leo is from Sweden, and our little boy Atlas is a mix of both. 🇮🇸🇸🇪 We love life on the road, exploring Iceland in our retro campervan, chasing hot springs, and making the most of this beautiful country. We had too 🍷 …. The volcano is still erupting at Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland 🌋 with one crater still active. Just note: This view however is from the 2023 eruption. Now you get a view which is around 1 km away from the actual crater. So you need to decide for yourself if that’s worth the hike :) there’s a big lava field between you and the view now. #iceland #icelandvolcano #volcanoiniceland

The volcano is still erupting at Reykjanes Peninsula 🌋 with one crater still active. However unlike most recent eruptions, the one right now is actually open for hikers, which means yes, you can now hike to see it. 🌋 Just note: This view however is from the 2023 eruption. Now you get a view which is around 1 km away from the actual crater. So you need to decide for yourself if that’s worth the hike :) there’s a big lava field between you and the view now. The trail starts from the parking lot of the old volcano Fagradalsfjall 📍 🅿️ Approximately 1 hour walk from Fagradalsfjall P 1 east of Grindavík. 5 km. But before you head out, please stay safe: 👉 Don’t walk on the lava, even if it looks old, it can still be molten and dangerous underneath. 👉 Check wind direction and air quality 😷 you don’t want to be caught hiking through toxic fumes. Pick a day when the wind blows in the right direction. The paths have challenging terrain with gravel, lava fields, uneven ground, and steep hills. Monitor gas pollution before heading out, if the air quality is bad we recommend refraining from visiting the eruption site: www.loftgaedi.is Always stay up to date on current information. We’re married!!! 🫶🏼💍....for three years now. Today is our wedding anniversary and the perfect time to look back on this day, that was perfect in our eyes. So I’m using this week to look back on all the incredible memories 🥹 We got married on the tiny island of Vis in Croatia.... one of our favorite places on Earth. With me being from Iceland and Leo from Sweden, we knew we wanted a destination that meant something to us. One of our first dates was actually on this island, in this beautiful fortress up the hill. and that’s the location we chose to get married. Leo has spent many summers sailing along the Croatian coast, and I’ve been there photographing for work. It’s where we got to know each other, where everything started. Fun fact: Leo may or may not have borrowed (okay fine, semi-stole) a speedboat to bring me over to Vis once so we could crash a party. We sailed home at sunrise. Kinda set the tone for the rest of our story 🥹 For the wedding, we rented our favorite oceanfront villa and hosted a full week for our people... boat day, countryside dinner, white party, and then the wedding itself. The whole thing was just magic. The most beautiful sunset and our favourite people all in one place. Can’t put it all into words, but here’s a snippet from our wedding video...go watch it if you want a little glimpse into the happiest week of our lives 💫

Volcano season is back, July.2025 🌋 The volcano is still erupting…like I’ve often said, there’s never a dull moment in Iceland 🙈 If you’re in Iceland now you might notice that there’s a volcano smog covering parts of the country 😷 we’ve had so little wind latently, which is very unusual for Iceland. 🇮🇸 but hopefully wind will pick up again and blow it all away. ⁠ It’s hard to predict how long this one will last 🌋 but I’ll keep you posted. Dining inside of a greenhouse in Iceland? 🌱🇮🇸 I invited Leo to this place called Sól for our anniversary and honestly it was such a special experience. You walk in and it just smells like tomatoes and herbs, and everything’s growing all around you. Super cozy but still a bit fancy, in a chill way. The food was unreal. Everything was insanely fresh, because they literally grow it right there. We had tomatoes that actually tasted like tomatoes (you know what I mean), freshly baked bread, burrata cheese. They also brew their own beer, so you can get everything straight from the source. My fav was def the dessert though. I can’t even describe it, but I’m going back very soon for that one 🙈 It felt really special, just slow and quiet and really nice to just sit, eat, and be in the moment. No stress, just good vibes and amazing food. I added Sól to my Iceland map and guide too, so if you’re planning a trip, don’t miss it. Say hi to the new volcano in Iceland, here’s some new footage of the recent eruption. This is eruption number 12 on the Reykjanes Peninsula since 2021, and the ninth in this volcanic system since 2023. ⁠ Still feels surreal every time. ⁠ If you’re visiting Iceland: don’t worry. 💛 The rest of the country is totally safe. Flights, roads, and tours are all running as normal.
