Haus of Hoodoo is turning 4 years this Summer Solstice. My husband and I would love for y’all to join us and our family for an evening of ceremony, ritual, traditional Haitian food and drinks, as well as traditional New Orleans entertainment. The highlight of this event is a ceremony to Ogou, the Haitian Vodou Lwa of protection. Ogou is a warrior who with his shield, machete (or sword), defends us and protects us from danger, threats and enemies. During this event we will also be perform a collective ritual for health, vitality and personal power. Dress code for this ceremony: Red and white. Both colors must be represented. No short dresses. No short skirts. No shorts. No exposed chest. No exposed backs. No exposed midriff. Yes the weather will warm and humid. But you can be weather appropriate and ceremony appropriate too. If you can’t join us in person, you have the option of joining from afar. (Though I highly encourage being here, in person, celebrating and communing with us) To join us from afar, hand write a petition.
