Justin Long

Our first trip with @smiletrain in #MexicoCity 🇲🇽 We were deeply inspired to witness the comprehensive care for cleft patients here (throughout their lifetimes). The moment a patient walks into this Smile Train partner hospital, they are evaluated to understand the extent of the support needed- this may include: nutritional education, orthodontics, multiple surgeries, psychological support, speech therapy, and more. This incredibly thoughtful system is housed on one floor of the hospital, providing effective healthcare communication and collaboration for each patient. The doctors on the ground are some of the most brilliant and empathetic we have met (Justin and I know first hand, as we both came down w / a stomach bug and received care 🙏🏻). @smiletrain is truly changing families’ lives, and their smiles made US smile and now we hope they make YOU smile. More to come… 💛

We are thrilled to officially announce our ambassadorship with @SmileTrain, the world’s largest cleft charity 💛 This partnership has been months in the making, and we’ve had the opportunity to see their work first hand :) Smile Train’s unwavering support has provided free, comprehensive cleft care in over 90 countries, offering hope to countless children in need. Surrounded by a community dedicated to spreading joy, last night we celebrated 25 years of incredible impact. 🫶🏻 We can’t wait to share more of our journey and how Smile Train’s work has impacted lives, one smile at a time. Stay tuned for more… keep smiling & jump on board! 🚂 (not that it matters, but we’re literally writing this on a train… which kind of made us, well, smile :)

Sometimes good people get caught in bad bits… (like this classic I’ve been doing since I was in kindergarten. Four decades of THE SAME BIT. Its the one thing I feel qualified to teach a class in :)

One of these guys is going on a phone-free vacation for the next couple o’ weeks! The other two will continue on, without their mediator, being adorably adversarial #HappyAndRoo #GarfieldAndOdieVibez #furnemies✌️

Someone please tag the Anthony Kiedis biopic’s casting director. And yes, I realize I’ll have to spend a lot of time in the gym. And take singing classes. And cool classes. And not wear glasses. And I realize it’s going to be a long casting process… it’s an important role so they’re not just gonna give it away, give it away, give it away now. And I obviously won’t be making lame jokes like that while I’m in character as Anthony 🤓🌶️#RedHotChiliAuditioner

The legendary inspirational speaker @tonyrobbins shared his enormous brain and heart with us on @lifeisshortpodcast! We spoke for an hour just over a month ago and I’ve been thinking about our conversation several times a day since. He’s offering a FREE online seminar called #TimeToRise Summit that takes place next week: Jan 25th to 27th (timetorisesummit.com). You can also preorder his new book THE HOLY GRAIL OF INVESTING - the latest in a trilogy that offers invaluable strategies to achieve valuable financial freedom. 1. Our new logo for LIFE IS SHORT PODCAST! Designed by my multi-talented wife @katebosworth! 2. Tony and I discuss starring in a possible remake of “Twins” (among many actual + fascinating things we discussed) 3. A pic from when Tony and I briefly worked together on a never-aired “Mac vs PC” commercial. If you look closely, you can see a tiny @johnhodgman in the distant (and now-famous) white background Thanks to Tony and to all our dedicated Shorties!

This has happened to me, every so often, since 2001 but only once have I captured it on film. Now you can all experience what it’s like to be SOMEWHAT recognizable :) **If anyone knows any of the guys in this video, please tag them. They were super cool and kind. As are most “Jeepers Creepers” fans! 🙏🐦‍⬛👀 #tbt #JeepersCreepers #StillHaveMyPeepers #AndNoBellyButtonTattoo

You’re 41! 💛🎂🥳 When you were 40 you swam under a waterfall in a rainforest. You fell in love with your first silent retreat and the last Beatles song. You felt a playful poltergeist shake your bed in Stockbridge, and you made so many people smile with your warmth and curiosity. You rode horses again and they helped you heal. You took me to a place in the world that I’d wondered about since I can first remember wondering about the world and we marveled together at the ancient giant tortoises. You came to respect and even embrace the changing nature of things. You swam with a sea Lion in the Galapagos waters that felt close to something divine. You counted the hawks in the skies across Missouri. You continued to walk the coals of loss with courage and strength I’ll remember forever. You saw a federal judge on vacation dancing a solo conga line to “Mambo #5” and it made you laugh and it inspired you. You overwhelmed a boy when you first called him “husband” and made him feel luckier than he’s ever felt. You heard Paul Simon say that the listener completes the song and you were struck by this insight. You were struck by many things and you loved deeply. One day our kids might ask me “Dad, why did you write sappy things about Mom on that old Instagram app? The one you won’t let us use?” And I’ll say “Well, _____, because there are a lot of poisonous things on the Internet but your mom always inspires me to put good things into the world. Besides, i know reading those old posts touched her and made her smile. And I’ve been so blessed to have experienced so many fun, wondrous things in this life - things for which I’ll never be able to properly express my gratitude - but of all those joys, touching your Mom and making her smile are my favorites.” They might say “Ew!” Or “Why?” And I’d say “Because she completed all of your Dad’s favorite love songs. Even ones he hadn’t thought about since he was a kid. Like the theme song of a TV show he loved called FAMILY TIES. There was a line in that song that went like this ‘…and there ain’t no nothin’ we can’t love each other through…’ And one year, when she was 40, your Mom completed that song too. She’s simply the best”💛🧚

Blowing away 2023! And looking forward to deeply inhaling 2024! Thank you for all your kindness this year. I’ve enjoyed sharing a little bit of my life with you all on this here app ❤️🤠🍾 P.s. huge thanks to Madelyne and Hugh for giving me their Santa hats after I awkwardly approached them in a bar with my sob story about looking EVERYWHERE for said hats (3 targets, 2 CVS’s, a couple Walgreens, etc). As you can see, I put them to good use. Or… I put them to SOME use ;) And speaking of “donating”, thanks to @feedingamerica for all you do. Looking forward to joining you for more in 2024 ❤️

I loved playing Henry Waters in IT’S A WONDERFUL KNIFE so much that, even when I wasn’t shooting, I’d FaceTime friends and family as Henry. If they didn’t answer, I’d make these videos to send. I was originally inspired by Joel Osteen sermons but, at some point, a sprinkling of Bill Clinton found it’s way in and, in the end, I realized part of my joy was that this sinister character had gotten weirdly close to Dorothy Michaels from one of my favorite movies ever made, TOOTSIE. I can’t thank my GOOSEBUMPS hmu ladies @zabrinamakeup and @kristahannartistry enough for helping w Henry’s lewk (I was inspired by bullies from 80’s movies like the great @thetedmcginley) - applied beautifully by @mielenageartistry. And I LOVED finally getting to work with my hilarious pal @joelmchale and to meet new talented pals like @officialjanewiddop who stars in the movie. Thanks to director @ty.macintyre for giving me so much room to play with an already fun wild script (written by, no stranger to fun wild scripts, @michaeltjkennedy). You can stream it now on @shudder or @amcplus!! Argh! And our intrepid (kind) producer who GAVE me all of these instahandles + info @sethcaplan! And Argh again, I forgot to include the trailer (I’ll put it on my stories. And @officialjanewiddop + @joelmchale posted a funny angry promo that Fox News did to (for?) us

Every episode now streaming on @disneyplus and @hulu! This series is so spooky you may just break out in… little tiny protrusions all over your skin! 👻 My mom was a junior high school English teacher in the 90’s, so I’m fully aware of how beloved @rl_stine1’s book series was and IS. It was an honor to be apart of its legacy. As it was an honor and just SO FUN to play Nathan Bratt - an English teacher, himself… possessed by the spirit of an angry teenager. It felt like an homage to one of my favorite performances - Tom Hanks in “Big”. But just much more sinister. Thanks to all the directors for letting me live out some of my physical comedy fantasies. And thanks to my Vancouver-based chiropractor, Kaley, at Alliance Wellness for taking care of my middle-aged body after years of attempting said physical comedy. I LOVED our whole Vancouver crew - some of the best I’ve ever worked with. Shout out to Rita, Caroline, Zabrina, and Krista in the hair + makeup Dept! To Jan and Chris our gorgeous n’ talented camera operators and to all the talented young (does not apply to @robhuebel) cast members with whom I got to work. And huge props to @bencockell who played the angry (misunderstood?) teenager who possesses me - can’t wait to see what his bright future has in store. Thanks to everyone out there who has said nice things about this series - and to everyone who kept the not-so-nice stuff to themselves :) ❤️👻👻👻👻

Great SCOTT! It’s Doc Brown, Marty McFly and… a random Hill Valley student from The Enchantment Under The Sea Dance…? Though this could’ve easily been taken at a “Back To The Future” fan convention, this fan got to support his favorite actor at the @michaeljfoxorg’s annual #FoxGala - which has raised nearly TWO BILLION DOLLARS for Parkinson’s research - essential to finding better treatment and, one day, a cure for this disease. I couldn’t have been more jazzed to be a part of this night (as you can see from the huge, almost maniacal, smile on my face). Anyone who knows me knows what a massive influence @realmikejfox’s acting has been to me but it’s his courage, perseverance and HUMOR in the face of challenge that is inspiring way beyond any performance - if you’ve seen #Still on @appletv or read any of his great books, you’ll know exactly what I mean. If you haven’t seen it, why don’t you MAKE LIKE A TREE and check it out ❤️🕰️🛹☢️ Learn more and get involved at michaeljfox.org
