Viktor Axelsen

I don’t know where to start. But let me start by saying THANKS. THANKS to all of you who has sent me messages/comments both here and on other SoMe platforms. If I had the time, I would answer you all personally, but that is simply not possible for me. I’m beyond happy to receive all this support and congratulating messages. It means the world to me. THANK YOU! Thanks to Chen Long for being a role model in both victory and defeat. It was amazing to play an Olympic Final against you and I’m looking forward to our next encounters. Also a big congratulations to Ginting on the bronze medal! I’m lucky to be surrounded by the best people in the world who is continuosly supporting me through thick and thin. I wouldn’t be here without you. I cannot thank everyone, but you know who you are. THANK YOU! I will be looking forward to celebrate this win with my close ones and I’m beyond excited for the journey ahead - both on and outside the court.

An unforgettable birthday! Being named Sports Name of the Year and receiving the BT Gold award is a huge honor. A special thank you to HM King Frederik for the prestigious and special presentation of the Sports Name of the Year Award, as well as to my amazing fans, sponsors, team, family, and friends – your support means everything to me. Next up is Malaysia and India, where the first challenges of the year await. Last but not least, thank you so much for all your birthday wishes yesterday!

Stort tillykke, Viktor! 👏 📷Lars Møller
