Six months ago, I quit smoking weed, edibles, and anything related to marijuana. I had been an active smoker since high school for over one year. It was a hard decision to make since I believed I needed to smoke to function, from waking up and starting my day to going to bed or even smoking before going to the gym. I know there are tons of people who can relate since I wasn't the only one doing this. Slowly, I started to realize that it wasn't adding anything to my life; rather, it was taking away from it. So, I made the difficult decision to quit cold turkey. I started by throwing everything away or giving it away. Then, when I would get cravings, I would switch to coffee or tea, even having a simple protein shake to take my mind off it. But trust me, it was hard. The urge to smoke and forget about your problems was easy to give in to, but I stayed on the path and made sure that the urge wasn't big enough to compromise my goals. The first three weeks were the hardest. Sleeping was rough, and I had night sweats. After two months, things got better, and the smell of weed became sickening to me. And now, six months later, I can say that I do not ever want weed in my life again. I hope this is a positive message to everyone who wants to quit weed or stop. I say keep going, and you will love the benefits. To all my weed smokers, this is nothing against you, just a life decision for myself, and I wish I could motivate people who have been thinking about it. You got this! Keep going!
