Marc Guiragosian // Studio visit - 06.09.2019 // I was introduced to Marc through one of his collectors here in London and I finally got to check out his studio yesterday. It was an astonishing visit - Marc’s works make me excited about painting again. When I finally sort out my website I’ll upload a blog about these visits. But there were books strewn everywhere - Matisse, Picasso, Bacon, Doig, van Gogh and the old masters. I can sense these deep allusions to the history of painting in his works, but also a progression from them @marcguiragosian #marcguiragosian

Anselm Kiefer // Ramanujan Summation - 1/12 (2018-2018), emulsion, oil, acrylic, shellac and wood on canvas at @whitecube // Kiefer is showing exactly the scale of this massive 9x9m (30x30 foot) work. The Ramanujan summation, after which this work is named, is a technique invented by the mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan for assigning a value to divergent infinite series. I have a major in maths but completely forgotten all of this, someone care to explain? #anselmkiefer

Jerry Zeniuk // Untitled (Reutlingen 2) (2007) // This is one of my favourite shots that I have ever captured at a gallery. I walked into this room at the @pinakothekdermoderne , with this giant Zeniuk on the main wall, and smaller Josef Albers’ works on the side walls. This elderly couple had been sat starring at the Zeniuk in embrace for ages, completely absorbed #jerryzeniuk

Mark Bradford at @hauserwirth in NYC, You don’t have to tell me twice. A series of monumental canvases and span across the equally as monumental 22nd Street space. Bradford works by collaging found materials like street posters and oxidised paper then sanding, hosing and scraping away material until the composition is revealed #markbradford

Mathew Zefeldt’s Re_Spawn now on at @theholenyc. Mathew’s second show at the gallery features works based on the 2013 game Grand Theft Auto V, rendered immaculately in acrylic. Known for building immersive spaces for his works, the floor was also painted by Mathew in his studio. It feels like you’re occupying the same space in the game as the characters depicted on the walls #mathewzefeldt

A week around the galleries in London, heartbreaking abstraction and some relief #goodnightgallery

Little sneak peak of Anselm Kiefer’s new show, Finnegans Wake, opening at @whitecube this Wednesday. Taking over the entire Bermondsey space with monumental paintings and detritus, in a way that only Anselm can. He was also there to speak about the new works, the influence of literature like the titular Joyce novel, and the increasing complexity of the world @anselm_kiefer #anselmkiefer #goodnightgallery

Chris Ofili at Victoria Miro @victoriamirogallery. Paintings from the last 6 years, spiritual and energetic. To borrow from Adrian Searle, I’m reminded how the world atomises in the moment of fainting, or when the first rush of a drug kicks in. Voluptuous, narcotic, symbolist phantasmagorias in which nature is both fecund and corrupt, these paintings are among the most seductive things Ofili has ever done #chrisofili

The incredible To Bend The Ear of the Outer World on at @gagosian in London that opened tonight. Modern abstraction at its finest #goodnightgallery

Oli Epp at Carl Kostyál. Titled Shampoo, each of the large paintings are dominated by voluminous hair cuts, but it’s really the mouths that get it for me #oliepp #goodnightgallery

Radical Abstraction at @skarstedtgallery on in London. Joe Bradley - All Duck, Marco Pariani - Landscaper’s Birthdsy, Charline von Heyl - Crash Course #goodnightgallery

Beyond the Streets at @saatchi_gallery now on in London #goodnightgallery
