Coming back to gum lifts today! As an extremely hard procedure in dentistry, only a handful of people are performing this procedure. Our process is called Gummy Smile Makeover. 5th suggestion received is.. 5) Go on deployment with the Royal Navy Yes! My name is on the list, let's see what happens. #royalnavyreserves

This was a super tough case of gum issues and malalignment, corrected with porcelain veneers. It's not always a perfect solution, but for some people braces are simply not an option, so we have two options left, veneers or no treatment at all. Gums still healing in this photo Not practising, returning February 2022 #cosmeticdentistry #dental #drsahilpatel

Here's the 4th suggestion I received for my time off.. 4) "Continue your WWOOFing journey in Norway, Finland, Argentina, Chile. I hear winter season mushing is a good crack" WWOOFing stands for wilful worker on organic farm, and is a pretty great scheme where you exchange your time/work on a farm in exchange for accommodation/board. Go on their website and you will be hooked on the variety and abundance of things you could do. Mushing would definitely be a step up from borrow my doggy here in London, so this one definitely makes the shortlist. #wwooff #norway #finland #argentina #patagonia #chile

A not so simple case of replacing two crowns, placed after a childhood injury. We used two sets of provisional crowns, a gum lift, home whitening to reproportion and balance out this smile. Thanks for the referral @emily_v_tucker Not practising at the moment, returning February 2022 #cosmeticdentistry #drsahilpatel #zirconia #dentistryuk #crowns #injury

Happy Sunday! The third suggestion for time off is.. 3) "Hit the beaches in Hawaii, Tahiti or Bora Bora, just have a break" This one sounds great on paper, but I always find I get bored of a beach after a few days. I have more than a few days to spare, so I'm not sure this plan will last that long. That being said, some people say it's good to be less productive sometimes. Let's keep this on the table for now.. #hawaii #beach #holiday #borabora #cosmeticdentistry #tahiti #sixdayssevennights

I enjoyed this case, single tooth composite bonding can be so effective! Sometimes you only need one tooth treated. This case shortlisted in the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards this year! Not practising, returning February 2022 #cosmeticdentistry #drsahilpatel #compositebonding #composite

The next suggestion was... 2) 'Straya or NZ for more hitchhiking and farm living The person who said this knew I went there in 2014 and did just that! I took this photo just after we picked up some 'defective' carrots as sheep feed. Can you believe that all those carrots were deselected for humans because they didn't look as good! As much as I loved my time on farms, teaching me so much about food production and healthy living, I should probably try something new, right? #newzealand #australia #straya #bogen #kiwi #wwoof

Tooth contouring - a nice one from the past. Returning February 2022 #drsahilpatel #cosmeticdentistry #contouringuk #contouring #dentistryuk #london

Thanks for all the suggestions on what to do with some time off. I’ll share each one in turn and give you my thoughts, and my eventual decision! 1) Cambodia, Laos, Thailand backpacking Admittedly, I haven't ventured to these well trodden routes. the problem is the 'gap-yah' generation have hit these routes so much, it tends to be a place where lots of British travellers end up. I'm not one to go where a lot of people have been so this one stays off the table. #drsahilpatel #traveller #gapyah #backpacking #boring

Rox is supervising me pqcking. Attempting to stay organised.. SO much gear I couldn't even get it into the frame. Might need a 14mm super wide lens next time! #gear #drsahilpatel #dog #doggy #cockapoo #dogsofinstagram

Our first case together @thedentalmistress Almost five years ago now, a single zirconia crown. This photo was taken with a 50mm prime reversed on a 105mm macro - for all you photography nerdz ;) The focus area is tiny so I had to lean the lens on something to keep it steady. I'll be returning February 2022 #photo #photography #cosmeticdentistry #drsahilpatel #dslr #nikon #canon
