People flock to the Nguyen Hue Flower Street in Ho Chi Minh City during Tet festival. Let me know if you visited or have plan to visit this place to experience the Tet celebration atmosphere in HCMC?
The Nguyen Hue Flower Street, a staple for Tet Holiday in Ho Chi Minh City in recent years, was opened on Wednesday night and attracted thousands of visitors across the city. The flower street was originally the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in District 1, and reconstructed for the Year of the Dragon in 2024 with the theme “Spring of Love, Tet of Togetherness”, stretching around 600 meters from Ton Duc Thang Street to Ho Chi Minh City People of Committee.
One of the highlights at the venue is a pair of winding dragon sculptures spanning over 100 meters long with head circumferences exceeding two meters each, the largest size for a zodiac animal ever displayed at the annual event. Nguyen Hue Flower Street makes a strong impression right from the entrance gate with majestic dragon mascots. Named “Twin Dragons Embracing the Lotus” (a pair of dragon embracing lotus), the grand gate features two dragon mascots, each with 5 dragon body segments winding along both sides of the flower street.
The dragon mascots on Nguyen Hue street follow the styles of dragon statues from Vietnamese royal families, including Ly, Tran, and Nguyen.
