New episode of Professor Xiaxue!!! Explaining turbulence this episode!! ⠀ Whenever I see news of turbulence the comments are always full of people saying we caused this coz we caused climate change. I’m still not sure how exactly climate change caused there to be turbulence coz turbulence happens when a fast jet steam hits a slow jet stream (meaning like the fan example one part of the air is moving fast the other part moving slow). If temperature rises then all the air will move faster, not just certain parts of the air? 🤔 If someone can explain to me that would be great! (Like really properly explain don’t just say climate not good then of course weather not good) ⠀ I personally have a crazy thought: the increase in clear air turbulence is caused by the increase in airplanes!! Too many planes in the air and the air flow is constantly being disturbed by these airplanes, so it’s all wonky 😂 In 1980 there were 0.2billion passengers on flights yearly and in 2020 there were 4.6billion! Why cannot be the huge increase in the amount of planes in the air that’s causing problems leh? I mean in a swimming pool if there’s only one swimmer the water is quite calm right but if there are many swimmers all swimming very fast obviously the water gonna be all choppy. ⠀ Ok and I am aware there is no such word as turbulences.
