When I first started out, my first cake was $200. But over the years I’ve never stopped improving myself, I kept falling, but I kept learning too. I reached out to teachers all over the world, I practiced diligently & I never stopped investing in myself to get better and better. As a creative, I’m always on a look out for creative expressions. I’ve done a lot of self work to understand the person I am and what are my motivations for showing up; though of course, I am always still a work in progress. One of the biggest discoveries I’ve had that has been my constant theme in my life is, I live to create, and being able to create is my oxygen. Not everyone will understand (and I don’t need everyone to), but it’s just my way of life. And I am truly blessed to be in touch with this expression. If you’re alive, you’re naturally a creative. Go explore and be open, find out more about yourself through experiments. There’s no better reward in life than living a life true to yourself. Whenever I reflect back on my decade long journey making sugar flowers and cakes, I never fail to feel a little emotional about how this journey unfolded… it all began because of something that “didn’t work out” at that point. Learning the core foundations of COLOR THEORY has been the best thing I did for my creative work🥰 I can literally mix ANY colours on demand based on the commissioned request. It’s really huge for someone (me) who was struggling to memorise colors based on ratio in the past🥲it really helps so much more when you UNDERSTAND a concept and not just blindly follow. Something I teach my students all the time. Now I can see and adjust accordingly to my knowledge and experience. If I can pick up a new skill, you absolutely can too! Don’t let anyone tell you (or even yourself) that you can’t.
