Once the little bit of fruit inside is gone, they chew on it throughout the day to help take their hunger pains away. #WomensHistoryMonth is almost over. But unfortunately, serious issues such as poverty and malnutrition still threaten the lives and futures of so many girls and women. It’s hard to imagine, but there are about 1.2 billion girls and women in the world suffering from inadequate nutrition right now. Poor nutrition hampers girls’ and women’s ability to learn, earn and thrive — thus perpetuating the cycle of undernutrition, deprivation and poverty. We can’t help them all. But with your help, we CAN — and we ARE — making a huge impact in the areas of Kenya where God has called us to serve: Kisumu, Nyalenda, and Turkana. Think of the poorest school you have ever seen in America — then times it by 1,000 — and you’ll start to get an idea of how severely our partner school in Turkana, Kenya struggles. When a school can’t even afford to feed its students… it won’t be able to afford other educational essentials either — like plates, utensils, uniforms, school and classroom supplies, etc., etc. With your help, we have instituted a #schoolfeeding program there, and have provided many other necessities since 2019. But as is the case with ANY school, children’s needs are ongoing. Our students at Lobolo Primary School currently need plates and uniforms. DESPERATELY!!
