Listen Up! 🏥👏🏼 During the final day of Continuing Promise 2023, members of the team instructed basic first aid training to local citizens in Grenada! Throughout the entire mission, the Continuing Promise team has provided first aid training to local first responders, military personnel, and medical personnel in each host nation. They were able to provide training to over 500 individuals! “Providing training to these dedicated police officers and first responders during Continuing Promise 2023 was a humbling experience. Many of them had never received such training before, and knowing that it could make a difference in their life-saving efforts fills me with pride,” Said Lt. Cmdr. Sarah Jagger, U.S. Navy Nurse currently supporting Continuing Promise 2023. “I truly believe this training will make a significant impact in their response to calls. I know that the knowledge they gained will indeed save lives in the future.” Since 2007, Continuing Promise medical personnel have treated more than 595,000 people, to include approximately 7,300 surgeries. 🗓️ ⚓ On this day in Naval History... Sep 20, 1989, the USNS Pecos (T-AO 197) is christened and launched at the Avondale Shipyards in New Orleans, La. The Henry J. Kaiser-class fleet replenishment oiler provides underway replenishment of fuel, fleet cargo and stores to the Navy through the Military Sealift Command. The third ship named after the Pecos River, Pecos is still an active ship operated by MSC.

Together, the Coast Guard and Navy conducted 42 military dives, totaling 656 minutes of bottom time to depths of 40 feet in the Arctic Ocean. As a component of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One, MDSU-1 provides ready, expeditionary, rapidly deployable mobile diving and salvage companies to conduct harbor and waterway clearance, salvage, underwater search and recovery, and underwater emergency repairs in any environment.

A statistic released by the Department of Veterans Affairs estimated that 22 veterans die every day by suicide, the push-up challenge raises awareness for mental health of veterans. CLDJ is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
