My maa sends me some random pictures of some silly little things on WhatsApp she learned how to put status and send pictures recently, and now she is just obsessed with it. sometimes she sends me pictures of her recipe or of a random dog or cat who comes at our doorstep, sometimes a picture of my father shaving or reading newspaper. My maa doesn't talk much, she is a what you call an introvert but whenever she calls me she starts talking and talking about anything about any random aunty or about how she used to love sports and sports shoes. It feels like my mother keeps everything inside the boxes of masalas and sugar and whenever she talks to me she just opens it all at once. sometimes all you need is a person to listen, or as my maa says, "kabhi kabhi sirf koi sunne wala chahiye hota hai." one day, my mom and dad went to this mela (Festival) and my mom bought this painting of scenery of mountains and ocean and everything. she came home and hanged it in front of her bed, she stares at this painting all the time, after a few days she sent me a picture of it saying, "Kya samundra aisa hi lagta hai real me? itna gehra, itna shaant? itna khoobsurat." she has never seen the ocean. I called her and said "haan, aisa hi lagta hai, gehra, khaamosh, apne andar hazaron gum laakhon cheezen chippaye hue, aur jab lehren aati hai toh sab kuch kinare par chor aata hai, iss ummed me ki un kinaaro se koi toh batorne aayega."
