#SundaySmile! Hercules Update: His diagnostic results continue to improve and the spark is returning to his eyes! Barring any concerning changes in tomorrow's bloodwork, he will be discharged into foster care for continued vet care and TLC. We may never know his past, but are excited that emergency care and his will to live have earned him a future! While we smile for Hercules, we still worry about the expense his care has already accrued and its future costs. We are so very grateful for the support we have already received! #ForeverHomeFriday! Hercules is just a little bit brighter and is eating a little more! He is not out of the woods, but treatment is helping him! His crash landing into our program has been tough, but your support and kind words are so powerful! (More updates to come) We chose some smiling faces to showcase the happiest aspect of rescue... ADOPTION! Many of these pets required medical treatment and longer stays. They wouldn't be smiling in new homes without it! This month we are celebrating our 20th anniversary with a few adoption updates! Dapper Dan was one of the 2020 Doodles (20+ dogs rescued from the same home and mostly all related). He is now named Tito, enjoying being spoiled rotten, and his family was kind enough to share his DNA results for his extended family! We are so thankful that these dogs are now living their best lives in ways they couldn't have imagined before.

This is a definite plea for help. We’ve named this little guy Hercules because he is so strong for not giving up yet! He was abandoned in a small carrier in front of PWP, VERY emaciated, with bite wounds, and is now having seizures. He is currently hospitalized at MedVet. We are asking for financial support for his care, any information about his past, and all the healing vibes possible. https://petswithoutparents.networkforgood.com Update 8/20/21: Hercules is a little bit brighter, has not had another seizure, and is being offered slightly larger portions at each meal. He is not out of the woods, but treatment is helping him! Updates are coming only once daily and we are not permitted inside to visit him or take update pictures. Hopefully he will soon be able to have a short visit outside the hospital with us so we can read him all your comments! We have a journey ahead, so please continue to share his story. These costs are unexpected, already very large, and not yet completely known.

We love, love, love updates from our adopters! It's what it's all about! This month, we're celebrating 20 years of adoptions by sharing just a few. It's what makes supporting PWP so awesome! Stella (brindle) was formally known as Louise. She was rescued from a hoarding situation. We are so thrilled she is enjoying wrestling sessions with her dog sibling, cat naps with the cats, camping trips, and car rides!
