There are so many iconic shots of the mountain, but I really wanted to convey how the journey made me feel – the feeling of excitement and joy as you see the mountain on the horizon as you approach. There are multiple ways to get to Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko: car, bus, or train. There is a fast express train, but I disembarked halfway to take a slower connection, knowing it would reward me with views like this one. Afterward, it was a day spent exploring the autumn scenery closer to the mountain itself. Looking back at this photo, it reminds me to enjoy the journey as much as the final destination, and I hope it can inspire others as well. Japan is full of so many iconic locations, and we should enjoy the process of discovery as much as when we arrive at our destination. After a few days, I was looking for a way to take a short break and came across this small and wonderful island called Procida. From what I'm told, this island is ancient and has been inhabited since 1700 B.C. Once there, I was most impressed by the pictorial harbor called Corricella, which is made up of cubic houses in all the colors of the rainbow, growing organically into a whole. In the past, they say the settlement was even far more colorful. Each house had its own distinctive color scheme because the fishermen wanted to recognize their home from a great distance. After this quiet day, I took the last ferry back to Naples in the evening. The swell was high, the ride bumpy, yet I was relaxed. Since I have southern Italian roots, every trip to Italy (especially to southern Italy) means I get to visit my second home and awakens feelings and images that I otherwise often miss. These feelings I try to capture with my photography best possible for eternity and so to share with other people." #passionpassport #italy

It’s a time for celebration but also for reflection, gratitude, and humility.
