It takes courage to start something new, but it also takes courage to find an end. I started this project not knowing if it would ever reach completion. It only did because of my publishing house @dkverlag , every single person that supported me and the amazing people that shared their time and table with me. Up until now, making this book has been the most amazing experience of my life. Sharing my journey with you, eased the loneliness that came with it and encouraged me to continue. Never let people discourage you from doing what you need to do. Even if it’s been done a trillion times, go out there and do it your own way. Sometimes I can’t believe that I actually traveled ten African countries on my own, and cooked in 50 different households - it’s totally crazy but I would probably do it all over again! Paradoxically, once I was holding the book in my hands I realized how little I knew and that my journey to discover and learn had just begun. "Eating with Africa" has been my baby for the last three years and now it’s time to let it go to make space for new things. I’M NOT DISAPPEARING neither is my book (available in all German speaking countries), or this account, nor is my love for the continent.
