The PERFECT hip thrust setup for me! By leaving my @roguefitness Hip Thruster Bench attached at the back of the rack, I'm able to drop in a bar and go at any time vs. finagling with setting up my adjustable bench and going the traditional route. ALSO... Because the rear section of my RM-6 has 30" depth, it allows for plenty of room for me to rack a bar on j-cups and lift off/work when ready!! I've had it like this for a couple of days now and it doesn't interfere with the functionality the rack itself either!! 😁. Literally PERFECT!!! The first three implements were good. Definitely comfortable for me but that duck walk was weird to carry. Instead I did a crab walk and that helped me a bit. Overall very great session. Un petit retour sur les @frenchthrowdown plus d’un mois après, entre travail et reprise des entraînements ! Avant que cela soit une expérience incroyable c’est avant tout une histoire ! 🗣 ➡️ 2017 début du BPJEPS pour devenir coach sportif sans encore connaître le CrossFit ! Durant cette année je commence à m’intéresser à la discipline et je rencontre @louis.kln (le mec deter sur la photo 📸) avec un beau 60kg au back squat ! 😂 (je n’étais pas mieux, mes genoux jouaient des claquettes, mes lombaires pouvaient servir de canne à pêche 🎣) Encore novice avec aucune heure de pratique dans la discipline, nous décidons de nous inscrire à l’Open CrossFit 2018. Entre DU, muscles-ups et overhead squats, on prends une grosse claque ! 🫡 Quelques mois plus tard, je découvre les images des French Throwdown qui me donne réellement envie de commencer le CrossFit ! 🤯🤩 Nous voilà partis pour des heures d’entraînements tel des chômeurs aguerris avec @louis.kln ! 🥵 Plusieurs mois pour ne pas dire 2 ans plus tard (Covid notre ami) nous avons chacun ouvert notre propre affilié, lui @wys_crossfit , @crossfit2rives pour ma part ! 🚀 Le temps se libère, nous nous entraînons en team avec @juliawillmann et @emmavalembois ! 🤜🤛 Presque 4 ans après notre départ, nous voilà au @frenchthrowdown ! When this event was first announced, I was a bit disappointed for the “ big lift Saturday” and thought nobody would even be close to finishing the ladder with how heavy the weights were. Boy was I wrong 🤪! It was such a cool event to do and to watch afterwards. The athletes really crushed it- it was so impressive! It was definitely stressful though because I had no clue what I would be able to do and I had missed lots of attempts in my warm up while I was playing around with technique. We all know our lifting numbers with barbells so well but (probably) nobody in the field had ever done sandbags to shoulder at a max weight like this. Looking back on the event and the way different athletes brought the bag up to their shoulder, I didn’t use the best technique for it and felt I came up short on my potential. I wasn’t able to properly adapt and transfer my deadlift or clean strength to a more functional object like a sandbag. Regardless of my result, it was still super cool to do and I loved it! I was definitely challenged in the event and learned a lot moving forward! How did you like this event ? Thanks for pushing me to get out of my head. The Spartan Classic USPA was an amazing meet (@samirae_spartanbarbell is the kindest and most professional meet director). Meet Recap For our @outputperformance lifters This past weekend at the Louisiana State Championship in Lafayette was a fun, mixed emotions, and a huge success! Both lifters walked away with prs and growth on the platform! Grace Chatelin Teen 1 90kg @greenbean_powerlifting This was Grace's 3rd meet, and biggest meet to date for multiple reasons. Biggest meet roster and the first time going 9/9 Grace and I have been working together for almost a year and half. The first meet was a fun time hitting an unofficial squat record in the old T1 84+kg class. The next meet she got down to 82.5kg class, had a small pr. Then some time where she lost motivation and focus. Grace normally trains on her own, even in the short time I've known her, she thrives in a lifting environment. We got back on track after March, found a meet where she could attempt american records for the last time being a teen 1 lifter. Weighed in the 90kg class, and well the rest was history. 9/9 day Squat 182.5kg/402lbs (American Record) Bench 90kg/198lbs(American Record) Deadlift 157.5kg/347lbs(7kg pr and American Record) Total 430kg(25kg Pr and American record….Beats Old American total record from 2013 by 127.5kg!!!!) Grace is soaking up the best meet of her life to date still (Smile) as she should! She yet again saw she has great potential in this sport even at 15 years of age. We plan on doing a meet hopeful winter time, maybe mid. But the long term goal is to get her to @usapowerlifting High School nats directed by @mrsfit_faas in myrtle beach or Raw teen nats.
