Body confidence is an elusive beast isn’t it … I’m pretty sure we weren’t born with the ability to stand in front of a mirror & pick apart every minuscule bit that wasn’t to the exacting standards of what we thought they should be … overtime we just seem to begin to criticise ourselves … I’m certainly quick to pick holes & make comments about how my body isn’t “perfect” & note everything I don’t like about it … we really shouldn’t be like this … my body has born 3 children - all via c-section .. I have a c section pouch .. my body never pinged back to the pre-pregnancy shape it once was .. as I get older it’s once again changing .. now it’s down to menopause & age .. my body is now slightly more squishy in a lot more places .. it has wrinkles & creases in it where it was once crease free … but this squishy, crinkly (currently slightly tanned) body of mine is almost 51 .. it has in fact done a rather cracking job … I should be celebrating my body rather than apologising for it .. I would imagine that quite a few who read this may agree with some of what I’m saying … i was very nervous about wearing a bikini on holiday .. it has been years … but you know what .. we only live once so let's wear those bikinis & be proud of our incredible bodies .. let’s make a pact to be kinder and more gentle to ourselves ..
