I LOVE FRESH AIR!! Seriously though 🙊 It wouldn’t be uncommon for you to walk into my house and find our back door to the deck wide open 😂 I’ve been meaning to get around to installing a screen door for the past two years and I finally got at it this spring! There is nothing better than opening up that door and letting that fresh, crisp morning air flood my house 🌬 #heaven I picked this screen door frame up from @lowes_canada. With this particular door you have the option to purchase an “insert” for the bottom portion of the door to jazz it up a bit however you like 💁🏼‍♀️ I LOVED the idea of the insert being that it added a level of support to the frame itself being that its pretty light to begin with. And even going one step further, for the “littles” that come over to our house or the ‘opening the door with your hip habit’ that I have, it ensures that the actually screen doesn’t stretch when pressure is applied in those spots. The little insert gives us something to press against when opening it up! I unscrewed the screen from the door, put on two coats of @minwaxcanada’s Dark Walnut stain and then added a gold door handle and that was that! The best possible outcome of Expectation vs Reality! We went from a 3D model of our vision to a real life version that looks almost exactly the same! The 3D model is a great way to visualize your plan! If you need help visualizing your space, let me know! Also can you believe this bright room is in a basement!? With 7ft ceilings too! 😄 This project was a huge undertaking but we learned so much doing our own demolition, adding new windows into the foundation, plumbing, electrical, tile, flooring. Heading into the long weekend, with the best feeling.. because we ARE DONE!!!! 👊🏻 This was our biggest #diy to date! And it was all inspired by this beautiful @modernblaze fireplace. I am so happy we added this beauty to our basement, because let’s be honest we get 7 months at least, of cooler weather.. and this gorgeous electric fireplace will keep us warm all winter long, and actually you can enjoy the flames without turning the heater on for cozy ‘looking’ summer nights 🙌🏻 This diy was all firsts for us, first time building cabinets, first time framing out a fireplace, first time putting up stone, first time grouting/white washing brick.. so we went day by day, step by step.. but I am so happy with how it all turned out!! The link between Marriage & BBQ 😱 Btw I really love BBQ 🍗 but here’s something very unexpected I once came across.... . . Today, let me share one of my very personal real life stories with you. I’m talking about the time when I wasn’t married YET (just engaged!). This family friend Aunt met me after a longest time & the first question she asked was if my fiancé knows how to cook #bbq . I stared at her thinking what kind of question is that... Sitting there confused, not knowing what exactly is she trying to ask.. I replied; I’m not sure if he can cuz I never asked him 🤷🏻‍♀️. She replied; well too late now cuz you’re already engaged and your wedding is just around the corner 😂. But let me tell you one thing, MEN who know how to cook bbq are Keepers! She left me with that statement without explaining anything further.. . I was sitting there lost with confused thoughts as I struggled to understand her logic between marriage and bbq. At that time it sounded very weird but now that I look back and think about it, it all makes sense! You know what the common thing is between marriage & bbq? It’s PATIENCE! Both require extensive patience to survive. You can’t rush to cook your bbq on high heat or else it would burn or won’t cook right. Same thing with marriage, you have to be patient to survive your relationship! . So my “single” friends, take my aunt’s advice & ask your guy beforehand if he knows how to cook BBQ. 🙈😄! . I’m sure the single ladies will find this advice quite helpful but I’m curious if there’s any such logic of what kind of trait a girl must have to find if she’s a keeper? New Table Style! This solid wood table was made 66” in diameter to comfortably seat 8 people. We love how with this style you can tuck in a chair fully around the entire table and not interfere with the base!

We partnered up our client @lowes_canada with @p.arruda to showcase their new Eklipse cabinet collection! The Eklipse cabinets are pre-assembled, well-built, and easy to install. Patricia was refreshing her laundry room and the Eklipse cabinets were the perfect fit to transform her space! Anyways I guess today is national tape measure day , so I figured it’s a good day to post this 👍 . I did a little drop test with the Shockforce night eye probably a 60-70 foot drop, out of a second story window where the backyard drops right off to the river . The tape had no issue with it at all , is still in great condition 👍 . That being said in my opinion as for the rest of this tape measure , it’s just ok 🤷‍♂️ . Blissful Blue is the most calming colour for this lakeside cottage bunkie! It has great coverage and an excellent finish for this active room.
