When my amazing clients and friends @thomasjhilfiger and @mrshilfiger decided to relocate from their iconic residence in Greenwich, Connecticut, and make a full-time move to Palm Beach, Florida, last year, they pondered a new kind of frontier and we dove in again to make it fit both the style of the region as well as their own. Well saya gak worry sama ciumannya sih, lebih worry sama gimana cara motret rumah dengan lebar kisaran 15 meter, dengan jarak tembak yang cuma 5 meter dan di hiasi dengan kabel listrik cantik. Nanti tinggal liat hasil akhirnya fotonya aja deh ya.⁣ ​.⁣ ​Balik masalah rumahnya, setelah masuk ke foyer udah terasa nyaman banget, ada ruang duduk dengan plafon yang sangat tinggi, juga dapetin banyak view taman. Lewat dari ruang tamu.. SURPRISE !! Kemewahan⁣ ​.⁣ ​Rumah dengan lebar 8m tetapi owner berani mengambil keputusan untuk memotong sisi bangunan kiri dan kanan supaya tidak nempel dinding tetangga. Jadi efektif interior rumah hanya dengan lebar 6m. Biasanya kalau rumah cuma lebar 8 udah pasti di fullin bangunan. Well, justru keputusan berani ini yang bikin rumah ini jadi enak menurut saya, terang dan pengudaraan jadi bagus. Kemewahan dalam bentuk yang berbeda.⁣ ​.⁣ Kemewahan lainnya tapi dari sisi fotografer, kalau motret rumah tinggal yang pemiliknya hobby mobil. Jadi garasinya pasti ada mobil gaul yang fotogenic buat di foto. Udah pasti fotonya buka pager dong kalo gini :)⁣ ​.⁣ ​Kebetulan ownernya juga demen sepeda, jadi foto di dalem juga bisa di kasih properti sepeda.⁣ ​.⁣ ​Favorit spot saya di tangga belakang, karena posisinya tepat di sebelah inner courtyard, dihiasi banyak kerawang dan ada skylight dari atas. We designed this house for former NHL star (& Olympic 🥇) Dan Hamhuis and his family near Smithers - click the map for one of BC’s most beautiful and hospitable valleys. On the cover of @westernliving’s summer issue. Dan came to us (through @leppconstruction 🙏) with some floor plan sketches they had been dreaming about - to build a new primary home on the site of their old summer cabin. We followed the principles of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, designing the house from the inside out: starting with Dan’s sketch and developing it into an efficient floor plan that celebrated incredible views over the lake. Then we let the landscape and site inform the massing - with a shed roof that follows the slope towards the water and uses south facing clerestory windows to amplify and diffuse natural light throughout the house. Then we asked @hotson_arch to collaborate with us, helping cross our t’s and dot our i’s and ensure our design intent was achievable. We are so proud of this this project and the incredible team who brought it to life.
