219 lbs on the pole spear. Never believed as a kid shooting Pelagics was possible. Much less with a pole spear. Then @riffe_international and I set out to design a bluewater pole spear that was fast and versatile and capable of more than any of the heavy metal and crappy fiberglass ones of the time. We did, and during that time my goal was to prove what was possible, Cobia, wahoo, amberjacks, king mackerel, Blackfin and Yellowfin tuna all fell to the primitive weapon. @headhunterspearfish has continued that innovation and though this was likely the first Yellowfin on pole spear, the feat has been repeated by still only less than a dozen people in the world. Go see what’s possible. You never know until you try. #polespear #spearfishing #world #record #yellowfin #tuna SORRY FOR THE LANGUAGE

Great days in the woods and on the water with the boy. I’m tired, sore, but so blessed to be able to spend such quality time with good people including my kids. @canamoffroad making life outside easy,

If you ever wanted to get a lobster mounted and tried it yourself… it’s tough, messy… @florida_lobster_taxidermy just finished my 11 lb one @claylikover got this year and it’s amazing. Huge thanks to them for all the huge ones they’ve done over the years. Thank you guys this is super cool. Well worth the $$$ #lobster #taxidermy #florida

We grew up using old trucks, jeeps, and 4 wheelers. Amazing how far SXS and off-road vehicles have come. Most of my spots I can’t access 1/2 the year because of the mud and water with my truck. Looking forward to cruising in comfort from now on. #canam #offroad #sxs

Anyone have a good gun/bow rack they’ve used in their Canam? Can’t believe this is my new hunting shed!! First stop? Window tint. Going to use the nano-ceramic 15% on windshield and 30% on doors and back Window. This is my third @canamoffroad and they just keep getting more badass. I ordered a LED light for cargo bed and closing gates and a bigger one for at night facing forward. Any suggestions on other adds? Can’t wait to get it in the woods! #offroad #canam #sidebyside

Good lord I hate the new dramatization of a below average video. It’s been painful watching the evolution of spearfishing from a core group of people around the present state of social media Spearos. Dive because you want to, don’t dive/surf/hunt for clicks or because you need content. The drama on the most average videos ever is getting out of hand. It’s Crevalle jack for gods sake it taste like a hippies wet Birkenstock. #spearfishing #freediving #hobby #horsing

There’s no way around it, the Ocean always pushes back harder. Yesterday @troutselfies didn’t surface after a dive and unfortunately we have lost another talented, kind, smiling, giving, inspirational human too soon. A few weeks before, @marlin_wakeman0011 dad messaged me @captrufus that his son had slipped off the dock in a marina in @bahamas and been immediately grabbed by a shark on his leg then again by a second on his back. Marlin is going to be ok. A father’s worst nightmare. There is nothing good about any of this. It’s heart breaking. Just be safe. Words can’t do justice for this loss of life and tragic attack. If you’ve been in this sport long enough you’ve had it affect your life at some point. I’ve seen 9 blackouts Spearfishing and luckily was in the right place to do my part. Each memory sneaks up and scares the hell out of me knowing what could have been. We’ve had dozens of friends bitten by sharks and the most dangerous places have become marinas. I don’t know what the answer is, education? taking a step back?, slowing down? Just be safe. Virgil you’ve touched so many. You’ll be missed and it’s not fair that you’re gone. RIP

This is what the sounder should look like! Tuna meat ball. #tuna

What’s you best advice to pick the big one out of the school? It’s hard. The mental and visual exercise it takes in a finite amount of time (breath hold) to make it happen is tough. Dive deeper?-Sometimes… Look for long sickles?-not in Central America… never ending tunas until an Orca crashed the party and left a hole in the ocean and porpoise and tunas scattered 30’ in the air and heading for Hawaii. #spearfishing #tuna #yellowfin #underwater

Poop cloud is the new best transition between uw sequences. Prove me wrong #spearfishing #porpoise #tuna #freedive #yellowfin

What’s the best technique to throw a castnet? Old school seems to be lead line in mouth, 1/3 of net in right hand and throw. You get more distance. Keys kids 90’s and 2000’s put more over their shoulder. This is some East Coast small net style. #cast #net #mullet whatever works

Might swing through here this summer. Does anyone Spearfishing up here? Sounds like the GWS are thick. I’d love to go harpoon a bluefin and catch some stripers and flounder. Any advice? #nantucket #lobster #fishing #tuna #stripers #bass #striped #fluke #harpoon #swordfish
